Y/n walked slowly through the icy woods, clutching onto her injured hand. The nights temperature nipped at any skin exposed. She was surprised it hadn't frozen her dripping blood into icicles. Instead she left a trail of red that followed her to the mansion.
She could only pray that the rake hadn't found Jeffery and not her little trail. The last thing she wanted to deal with was that thing. She had been attacked previously by the rake, just as she was running back to the mansion for back-up. It left a pretty nasty gash along her side and her firing hand, burned like hell too. She managed to injure the thing before running away, stunning it temporarily for god knows how long.
She breathed out a cloud of air, shivering as she held tighter onto her wound. The rake had cut her pretty bad, she could see some of the bone. Not to mention her knee which still locked up whenever she picked up her pace.
It might've even gotten her with its claws a few times in other places, her clothes had splotches of red on them. Despite this, she couldn't feel anything other than the searing pain in her ribs as she treaded on.
Determined to beat the fatigue and weariness of the blood loss she trotted on, the house was just up the hill and she could just smell the dinner Bloody Painter had cooked them that night. He was one of the most favourited cooks in the home.
Earlier he had cooked a simple but hearty meal. Warm chicken soup, steamed vegetables, and grilled chicken. Her stomach growled at the thought of having seconds. That night, dinner was as lively as ever.
Everyone for once was sat around their grand and humongous rectangular table. Almost like the kind in the old timey castles of the mid-evil times. It was dark oak, similar to that of most of the mansion. It had lovely trimmings that lined the perimeter as well as the matching chairs. A beautiful red table cloth clothed the table to protect it from whatever stains Sally or Jeff would get on it.
At the table people joked, told stories, and ate their food, compliments to the chef. The proxies all sat near one end of the table, next to the head of the table which was reserved for the boss. He didn't normally sit with them, he hadn't needed to eat firstly. However, he did sometimes sit in, enjoying listening to the bustling life of the home he has created.
Toby sat across from her, shovelling food into his mouth like it would be taken away in a minute. Hoodie ate in a similar manner, but not as messily as Toby. Y/n sat next to Slenderman, with Masky on her right.
She smiled warmly at him, her heart fluttering as she stared at him. She could feel his hand reach for hers, interlocking their fingers under the table. It was a subtle gesture but it made the experience all the much better.
"I hate you." he whispered.
"I hate you more." she whispered back with a smile.
Her vision grew spotty, still not caring as she pushed on. There was no possible way she'd be taken down by a simple wound and a few cheap blows. Yet, her wound seemed to sputter out copious amounts of dark thick blood onto the pure white snow. A ghastly painting that seemed to colour the floor.
Huffing she looked away from the snow and she continued to make her way up. She paused a few times, leaning on trees as she caught her breath. The spottiness of her vision didn't worsen, but it didn't get any better.
Looking up as she tried to get more air into her lungs, she watched as one of the stars grew dim and bright, it was twinkling. Almost in a similar rhythm as her panting. Maybe it was just her imagination, but it seemed to follow her breaths. Her vision wavered even more as she pushed off the tree.
The rough bark scraped her palm slightly. Not that it hurt, nothing hurt besides her burning gushing gash. It hadn't helped that the cold made her fingers feel as though they were going to fall off.
Treading on, she could smell the dinner from earlier, but with something new. No–not new, something familiar, a scent she thought she'd never smell again.
The ice crusted snow cracked as she collapsed onto the ground. "Y/n?!" a voice yelled as it ran closer to her aid. The person who owned the voice lifted her slightly so that her head laid in their lap. They were warm.
"Where have you been?! I couldn't find you anywhere!" the voice who she soon recognised as Masky yelled. She looked up at him before taking a breath in. A lit cigarette.
"I thought I got you to quit smoking?" she weakly joked. "Progress isn't always linear sweetheart." he laughed dryly as his eyes threatened to tear up. "Let's get you inside, straight to Jack!" he said worriedly before hoisting her into his arms.
"Thank you, but Jeff he–" she whispered as she felt the warmth of the house engulf her from the moment they got in. She could hear the frantic voices as they walked through the house. Some ran to get the Boss, while others bombarded her with questions.
She was set down on the patient bed, while they waited for Ben to get Jack. Masky held her unharmed hand gently, tracing circles into it with his thumb. He was such a romantic even at a time like this.
"Jeff is still out there." she said just barely above a whisper. "Who's gone?" Masky asked as he pulled down his mask. Carefully he lifted her hand to his mouth before placing a gentle kiss on her knuckles.
"Jeff is still trapped in one of the posts, the rake got to us. It's hunting us down." she spat out coarsely as she felt her consciousness slip in and out. "What the hell is 'the rake'." he asked with a worried expression.
That's when she heard the deathly shriek of the monster before slipping into unconsciousness once more.
