Fatima: babe don't be late, our appointment is at 11:30 Tuesday. I don't want to have to wait because you can't be on time.
Zac: baby calm down I'll be there. How's my baby doing? Fatima: I'm tired AF. My mom wants me to come home this weekend since you're away. But I don't know. I have to study for my test next week and I just don't feel like being anyone's company.
Zac: you miss me...... Fatima: why you say that? Zac: because your grumpy. Look I know I had 3 away games and it's been a lot. Maybe a few days with your parents would be nice. Fatima: Zac NO! It's fine. Look I'm gonna go. I'll talk to you later.
Fatima hung up the phone. Grabbed a water out of the refrigerator when her phone rang. Fatima: hello Zac: so instead of talking to me, you hang up? Fatima: we were done talking. Zac: HOW? How when I was still talking. This the shit I be talking about. I'm on the road doing my best and you manage to always start a fight when I'm away. Fatima: I'm starting a fight? I'm 6 months pregnant. You're in a different state every few weeks. You wanted this! Zac: Fatima your outside yourself right now, just tell me how to fix this? Fatima: you can't, are we done talking? Zac: man this shit is crazy. Fatima: are we done, Zac? Zac: yeah I guess I'll talk to you later. Love you. Fatima: bye.
A few hours later Fatima and her best friend Angela were shopping in target. Fatima felt after the day she had a little retail therapy would be good. While out she ran into an ex of hers from a break up period between her and Zac.
Jay: look at you Fatima: wow long time no see Jay: I'll say, baby on board hun? Fatima: yeah a couple months to go. Jay: so I'm guessing you and Zac are doing well Fatima: you guess correctly Jay: hun.... You're still the one that got away. Fatima: it was nice seeing you Jay, I have to get going.
Jay leaned in and gave Fatima a hug and a kiss on the cheek that lingered too long. Jay: take care Fatima.
Angela: Girl that nigga still fine and still want you pregnant and all. Fatima: Angela hush, a freshman summer fling, that's all that was. Angela: shit after him and Zac damn near fought over you, I'm surprised you talking to him. Zac made it very clear and I quote" Jay stay the fuck away from my girl or your mother will have to identify you by your teeth. Fatima stay the fuck out his face before I fuck you up" Fatima: Angela relax. That was two years ago. We've moved past that, he was just saying hello. Angela: yeah ok, let Zac find out.
As Fatima pulled back up to her and Zac's condo she was surprised by the five dozen roses sitting on the step. As she gets all of them in the house she places the last vase on the kitchen counter. She grabs the card while rubbing her growing belly.
"Baby, I'm sorry I'm not there right now I hate when we fight, I hope you know that everything I do is for you and that baby you're carrying for me. Baby I love you, daddy will be home soon "
Fatima headed upstairs to shower. After her shower she decided to text Zac, she knew that the game would be starting soon and he wouldn't be able to talk.
