The morning after.
Saffie woke up in her bed as usual. The girl went to rub her eyes but felt her hands restrained. She almost screamed when she saw two arms wrapped around her. She looked back at who the arms belonged to and smiled a little, she felt safe now.
"Joao?" She shook the boy slightly, enough for him to open his eyes. "Mhm?" He murmured, his voice husky.
"Did we fuck?" She asked him, signalling to the shirt she was wearing. The same one Joao wore when he got to the party.
Joao's head lifted and he sat up. He leant against the grey headboard and looked around her room, then at her.
Her hair was messy, her makeup sort of gone.
But she was still gorgeous.
"Oh- uh.." Joao trailed off as he looked at what he was wearing, nothing but joggers. "I think we did.." He said and looked at her slowly.
"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God." Saffie said as she got out of bed and started pacing.
"The sex wasn't that bad jeez." Joao said, laying down again as he watched her.
"No Joao what if the media finds out? What if Graham finds out? What if Ben finds out? What if Magui finds out? What if Mason finds out?" The girl panicked and Joao got up, held her hands to calm her down.
"It's most likely that they will-"
"Not helping love." Saffie replied quickly.
"But, why should it matter? Who cares?" Joao looked into her eyes, he could see panic flood them. "Hey it's okay, I'm here with you. If you have to face anything bad, I'll be standing right next to you holding your hand. You're not on your own."
"No strings attached?" Saffie blurted out.
"What?" Joao said, a little taken aback.
"I'm sorry." Saffie said, "I just don't know about you and Magui and about me and Ben."
"Oh- right.. I'll be on my way then." Joao picked up his tech fleece and zipped it up. "You can keep the shirt." He grabbed his phone and checked the time, "Fuck I'm so late." He walked out of Saffie's room and looked down the corridor to see Mason kissing Lauren.
"Training mate?" The boy asked Mason.
"I'm coming" Mason said and soon double taked who it was. "What are you doing here?" He asked.
"I left my phone here last night." Joao responded
"In my sisters room?" Mason said.
"Yes, I was texting my girlfriend, well ex girlfriend now." Joao spoke, thinking about Magui. "Anyway, I'm going to training, you coming?" He asked.
"Alright then." Mason gave Lauren one last kiss before allowing her back into his room. The two boys went out into Joao's car and drove to the training ground.
"Why where you really in my sisters room?" Mason asked.
"Okay, alright. Don't get angry, and most importantly you do not tell anyone." Joao cautioned Mason.
The boy nodded in response. "We hooked up." Mason's eyes went from relaxed to almost bulging out of his face. "I understand you don't want anyone sleeping with your sister, but that was all it was, nothing more. So she can date Ben and we can all move past this. We were drunk and that was it. Okay?" Joao explained.
Mason had never had any guy explain a hookup like this but he accepted it. He knew Joao had good intentions. "You like her don't you?" Mason asked.
"What? Me? No way." Joao said, looking at Mason.
"I saw you with those tickets." Mason spoke. "The whole present, I saw it."
"She doesn't want a relationship," Joao began.
"She does-" Mason interrupted,
"With me. She wants it to be no strings attached." Joao said, he looked hurt and slightly beaten by it. It wasn't normal girls would refuse to be with him.
"I'm sorry lad." Mason placed a gentle hand on the boys shoulder and shot him a brief smile. "You've got to be patient with these things."
Joao nodded. "Training?" He asked.
"Yeah we better get going." Mason said. The pair rushed out of the car with their individual bags. Graham saw them both arriving an hour and a half late, so he called them into his office.
Back at the Mount household.
Saffie threw a pillow at the wall and groaned. The pillow bounced onto her desk and knocked off the small black box Joao had gifted her. It also banged on the wall to Masons room which made Lauren jolt and scream.
"Who was that?" Saffie thought. She grabbed her lamp and walked out of her room cautiously. She knocked on the door of Masons room.
"Shit shit shit." Lauren whispered to herself, clambering around his room for anything to defend herself with. In the end she also settled on a lamp. "Who is it?" She said.
"I'm Masons sister, who are you?" Saffie replied to the mysterious voice. Lauren opened the door and Saffie stepped back.
The two girls stared at eachother in shock. Saffie put the lamp on the floor and so did Lauren. The two brunettes embraced.
"Wait- so did you?" Saffie started.
"Yes we hooked up, Yes we used protection and clearly we were quiet enough for you." Lauren replied, already knowing what her bestfriend was going to ask.
"So, this is definitely not your shirt, who did you fuck last night?" Lauren asked Saffie, pulling on the shirt. "Good taste, expensive shirt."
"I don't even remember to be honest Loz." Saffie said, looking away from Lauren's gaze.
"You look away when you lie. Tell me pleaseeeeee." Lauren begged.
"Okay but please don't tell anyone." Saffie said and held onto her bestfriends hands. "It was Joao."
"Who?" Lauren asked. "See? I could say I slept with Chris Brown and you wouldn't know who that is." Saffie rolled her eyes and laughed.
"Okay but I would totally also smash Chris Brown so I would be proud with a hint of jealousy." Both girls laughed. "Girls day?" Saffie asked. "Girls day." Lauren replied.
Cobham training ground 📍
"Listen lads, I don't know who you two think you are but I have had enough of you both bringing the media to our club. I am done. You hear me?" Graham shouted at Joao and Mason. They both nodded.
"But Gaffa you need to-" Mason started,
"No. I don't need to do anything. You listen to me not the other way around. Got it?" Graham ordered. "You two go home, I can't deal with you both right now. The boys got up from their seats and walked back to the car. Their hoods up and ignoring any cameras that demanded answers.
They got in and it was pretty silent on the way home. "I'm not going to go back, Saffie won't want to see me. Do you fancy going and training on our own?" Joao asked. "Yeah sure, why not. I know a good place where they won't be able to find us." Mason replied.
He put it into the GPS and the pair went and trained for an hour.
