Synopsis:
The Commander is faced with a bloody and all the more horrific discovery upon returning to the Ark. As if someone has stripped every Nikke of her humanity to be disregarded beneath the presence of their wired minds, all Nikkes have gone dark — limply lacking control, like mechanical puppets repurposed to follow orders and nothing more.
However, the Commander quickly learns that these "orders" are not like any orders he himself has issued on the frontlines, nor any other commander before him.
Whoever has assumed control of all Nikkes plans to rid this world of them and leave the Ark — and humanity as we know it — completely defenseless once again.
The Nikkes serving as lights of hope become mindless machines and suffer unwilling deaths at the hands of someone pulling the strings from the shadows.
And the Commander must watch as the Ark falls apart around him, and those he has come to respect as both comrades and friends slowly but surely die unanswered, regretful deaths.
