However, today was not a normal day. Not by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, it was the most un-normal day you could think of. Not abnormal, just un-normal.

The weather in Malibu, California couldn't have been any grander, any more perfect. The rich magenta, sunflower, and vermilion hues that blanketed the entire coastal sky were breathtakingly gorgeous, punctuated every so often with wispy, delicate cirrus clouds that floated through the endless expanse of sunset just off the water's edge. The sun had yet to go down, which offered a display of the Earth's beauty in such a mesmerizing way.

"So... Are you ready?"

Barbie smiled brilliantly over to her mother as she asked that one simple yet absolutely loaded question. Looking down at her gown, the flowers in her hands, and the glistening blue sea glass ring on her left hand that was set to be joined by another band.

When she looked back up, Mrs. Roberts could see a glow on her daughter's face and a magnificent gleam in her eye. She watched as her pearly whites flashed with utmost jittery excitement.

Barbie nodded.

"More ready than ever, mom"

Calm, sweet, string music floated through the sea of people along the coast. Peaceful and serene violin chords accompanied by a flute and an acoustic guitar to inform the guests of the regality of the evening. And yet, as the music rose in pitch and intensity, each person turned around in their makeshift seating on the sand to see the procession arrive.

Ken Carson walked beside his mom, escorting her down to her seat. Before she sat down, she grabbed his face and leaned up for a motherly peck on his cheek. Finally sitting, she exhaled shakily, trying to calm down her own happy tears.

Ken's father came down the aisle next with Mrs. Roberts. Both Kenneth Sr. and Margaret hugged at the end.

Next, came the bridal party...

It was a very small group, despite how many close people both Barbie and Ken knew in their lives that could easily share in the day. Avoiding a massive amount of bridesmaids and groomsmen on either side, they stuck with the minimal.

Skipper, Maid of Honor, walked down with Chase, the Best Man.

Stacie and Chelsea, both bridesmaids, strolled side by side respectively with Rafa and Lazlo. Lazlo, to everyone's approval and happiness, had become extremely close to the group since Teresa introduced him nearly a year and a half ago on that fateful night that involved Brian and Corey Masters.

They chose to forego the traditional flower girl and ring bearer positions, instead opting for the Maid of Honor and Best Man to carry out those duties.

As the bridal party settled into their spots, they waited patiently for the makeshift white curtains to shift away to reveal the woman of the hour. All heads turned to the back of the 'aisle' in between the rows and rows of white chairs stationed perfectly on the flat sandy shore.

Ken cleared his throat and stood a bit straighter, the smile on his face nearly cracking himself in half.

And then, the curtains moved... and finally made way for Mr. George Roberts and the woman who held onto his elbow...
