APPEARANCE ─

Ocean fae naturally dwell beneath the waves and have evolved large, wide fins to propel them through the water. Their wings are slightly smaller than other species of dragon to reduce drag while under the water. They typically have blue scales to blend in with their habitat. They can flare out their fins to look bigger and to assert dominance. They have sleek bodies with smooth scales and gills on their necks. They have large eyes and pupils to take in as much light as possible

ABILITIES ─

They may not fly as fast due to their smaller wings but they are very agile in swimming and flying. They have night vision to be able to see in the dark under the water. They are unable to breath fire. They, like octopuses, have the ability to shift their scales to mimic the color and texture of their surroundings. They have to keep still to maintain this though. They can communicate in high pitched clicking that can be heard underwater. Above water, they can make a very loud, high pitched sound that can disorient an opponent and shatter glass. They heal faster in water and can't go very long without water, or else they can get dehydrated.

TEMPERMENT ─

Ocean fae can be pretty skittish around humans, even when domesticated, if not less so. They feel most comfortable around other dragons and in water. They quickly warm up to humans who show them and others kindness and patience. It can take them a little while to learn something so training them can be difficult sometimes, but they are hard workers and loyal protecters. They value patience and effort most in humans and have been known to prefer quieter humans.
