Somewhere in Prando island, lies the small city of Ame Valley, stable population, lot of train activity for railways like VR Rail and Goos Rail.
Into the outskirts of the city, there's a peculiar house to a certain someone, and by someone, I mean really someone..
*Alarm clock sets off the sound, only to be tapped multiple times before turned off.*
Cedar wakes up from his sleep, knowing he has to work in the Ferroville depot.
"God.. *Yawn and stretch* they don't pay me enough for sleeping.." Cedar says, knowing his usual schedule, get up early, brush teeth, dress up and head to work.
Cedar gets up from bed, does his usual schedule before heading to work.
*Walking sounds with the cold air and cars passing.*
Cedar gets into his car, starts it up, then proceeds to drive downtown to get the usual breakfast a friend usually makes, he would also go there to pick up a friend of his, Colin.
Cedar reaches the downtown area, and finds Colin holding the usual breakfast takeout.
Colin gets in Cedar's car, Colin had his car towed after a freak accident happened.
"So, your car is still being repaired?" Cedar asks. "It's gonna be more than a week buddy." Colin replies.
Cedar keeps driving to Ferroville depot, home to an intermodal port along with fluids to be delivered and some construction materials.
After 25 minutes, they eventually reach the depot, although they have to check in with security first.
"Identification and Card level?" The security guard asks in the post.
Cedar and Colin present their identification and card levels.
Cedar questions the Security Guard "You seem new around here."
The security guard replies "John is sick at the moment, so I'm a temporary replacement, he would've probably already know you guys."
Cedar says "Right.. you gonna let us through?"
The security guards says "One moment."
*Keyboard sounds*
The gates open and both Cedar and Colin go into the Depot.
Cedar parks his car within the depots parking lot, both get out of the car and head into the main building, where they meet the workers in there and also to get their high-vis vests.
As they walk along with Colin holding the takeout breakfast, Colin gets random goosebumps.
Cedar asks "Something wrong?", Colin replies "I dunno, I feel like someone would mess up something in the depot.."
Cedar reassures that nothing would happen as people working with VR are basically known to not really cause trouble, but Colin would eventually foreshadow it.
They enter inside the building, get some greets with the workers and head to the break room for breakfast.
From there, when they entered, it was pretty quiet with no one around, both sat down and start eating to begin with.
Colin questions Cedar "So, you ever think when will they add those new electric locomotives within the electrified rails?"
Cedar answers "They did say they are gonna add the new units in like a few weeks, no wonder they pay a lot just to add more trains and rails."
Colin says "sounds about right, also, you think they will upgrade our Card Levels?"
"I somewhat doubt it based on our experience."
Back outside, there's a new load that's set to be delivered to a new plant for the making of Titanium, Plutonium and Uranium.
"So this is all the load that's needed to get to the new plant?" Rodney asks.
"Yeah this is all the load that's needed, hazardous materials are.. *flipping pages* crude oil, bromine, liquid hydrogen and methane, out of the 4 hazardous liquids, 3 are flammable, and note you will pull at least 30 of these tank cars." The loader says.
"Right.. so that leaves the other 25 cars just for construction?" Rodney asks again.
"It appears so." The loader replies.
"Alright, if that's the case, I'm ready to haul these cars."
*Rodney proceeds to get on the HPT85E and start up the locomotive to couple up another HPT85E and switch tracks to the cars needed for the new plant.*
Back into the break room, both Cedar and Colin finish eating, they throw away the trash and proceed to get out of the break room, get their high-vis vests and proceed outside to use a SHP77 that one of the loaders talked about yesterday.
*Sounds of getting inside the SHP77.*
They start up the locomotive with the load coupled and start moving.
Back into the HPT85E, the train couples into another.
Rodney radios in. "5555 and 5556 are coupled in, proceeding to couple into the remaining cargo needed."
Cedar, now as the conductor, also radios in. "1805 here, ready to move out."
While 5555 is switching tracks to couple into the long cargo, 1805 starts moving to the tracks that lead to another depot.
5555 eventually switches tracks and couples into the cargo.
"5555 and 5556 are ready to move out." Rodney radios in before departure.
"Hold position until all pressure valves are ready." Yard master radios to Rodney.
After a good few minutes, it's an a-ok to move.
*5555 and 5556 rev up to start moving.*
However, not long before they would also depart from the depot, Rodney notices a misalignment from a switch.
"Uh yard master, one of the switches are misaligned, switch it please."
"Switch L7 is being repaired, you'll have to switch it yourself."
"God damnit.."
Rodney proceeds to put the brakes from 1 to 5, then proceeds to get out and run to the switch to fix the misalignment.
However, it wasn't long before disaster awaits...
