CH. 7: Slowing After Death

In no time, the train reaches Ash Fe City, only of the start, overhead wires are introduced, then an large yard, full of electric trains, have appear.

Not only that, the tracks doubled, from 2 to 4, ensuring more safety in case.

Then they are proceeding through downtown.

"Damnit, the amount of traffic there is, how the hell are we supposed to deal with this?"

"You tell me, if only we had a road close to the tracks,"

"I know for a fact you 2 aren't familiar with this area, but I am."

"Just because you used to live here doesn't mean you are superior."

"Shut it, brain dead, all you do is drink alcohol, which is against the VRD policies."

"Remember the profits I give you?"

"Oh yeah.."

"Now shut it, smart ass."

Then the train starts passing through Haven Central Station, one of the largest in Prando Island, home to rails such as VR Rail, Shadow Express, Kobayashi Railways, etc., and not to mention it is also a station in par to high speed rail.

Now Ash Fe City is more of a rail based city compared to the average city.

However, considering the structure of such stations, the VRD needed a way to quickly get through, but thankfully, federal authorities have such the way to help.

They guide through the VRD to get to the other side in close proximity with the train after a quick talk, the authorities are aware of what's happening, a helicopter is dispatched from Ash Fe City, only that, it is fully fueled to keep up.

"The VRD are navigating through with the train passing through one of the largest stations in Prando Island, and we have another helicopter dispatched to the chase." Says that of the news reporter.

Considering the dire situation, someone gets an idea, but not from who would you expect..

KOBAYASHI RAIL HEADQUARTERS

"Hmm.."

"Should we help them stop that train?"

"Are there any units in the line in the path of that train?"

"We do have an EP23C on the line, carrying around 40 intermodal cars."

"Dispatch them to pull at a siding, then attempt to slow that train down from the front."

"S-sir, are you sure?"

"Let everyone know about this, doesn't matter if we fail, just hope nothing fatal happens."

The man that wanted everyone to know, was none other than Kobayashi Mejiro, the CEO behind Kobayashi Rail.

Into the line, when that specific EP23C has heard the order, they pulled up to a large siding, uncoupling their intermodal cars, then switching to the other unit and moving back, then transferred their train to the other line, waiting for the train.

"Will this be our time to shine in our time?"

"Preferably so, just- make sure the news doesn't go crazy which I highly doubt."

Then, some waiting time happens, then the engineer looks at his mirror, seeing the train coming from the city and into suburbs, shining it's lights.

"Brother, pull up the speed."

"As if you say so." Before he proceeds to put the notches into the max, giving a kickstart to speed.

Now quick note here, the EP23C is an electric train that normally has a middle engine followed with a dummy unit behind.
