Hauler: A Runaway Train Story

CH. 9: Derailing Kill

While Colin deals with the braking, suddenly, the Federal agent vehicles skid and pass through the VRD vehicles.

"Who the hell do these bastards think they are!?-"

The radio kicks in from AVRA&M.

"The agents are gonna be speeding up than you guys to try and install the derailers."

"Wait hold on, wouldn't the derailers break if the speed is high?"

"Well yes, but look at the back."

The soldier in the radio with Alejandro looks back and sees the sparks from the brakes.

"Right.."

"Anyways we're gonna be busy here."

Then the radio frequency is gone.

Back into Colin, he gets onto the grain car ladder and climbs up to it, Radio in chest, Ready to brake more.

Colin is walking on top of the grain car, heading for another grain car.

He goes down the ladder, inserts foot, wait then quickly lift away.

Into the agents, they stop at a random part of the tracks, then the agents get out of their vehicles.

"Lads, insert the derailing gear."

Then the agents get the gear, start applying the derailing gear onto the tracks, specifically 10 of them.

The other agents are adding in explosives behind the path of the derailing gear.

Back into AVRA&M, they are doing this for a hazardous reason.

"So you telling me we should derail this runaway and cause some hazardous spill?"

"Yeah, that's what we're gonna do."

"Are you sure though? Wouldn't it be ourselves in fault to this?"

"Doesn't matter, we have to stop it from more danger anyways."

"Right.."

Into the runaway, Colin is carefully walking on top of the cars, doing more and more braking before the end of the line, or worse, that curve.

Colin gets the first 3 grain cars, moving on to a bulkhead flatcar, carrying large metal pipes.

Colin gets down, getting onto the ladder in the bulkhead, then spinning the wheel for braking, usually located under.

Braking happens, sparks shine.
Not to mention the tad bit of screeching.

Then as the runaway is progressing, having slowed down to around 73, one of the railroad crossings becomes active.

But as with what people tend to do, they neglect it sometimes.

A car zoomed through the crossing, a mere second before the runaway had contact.

After the train fully passed, the tracks then go back to one.

Back into the agents, they finish up setting the ultimate derail, and now they wait.

Now here's something noteworthy about this.

You see, their vehicles are parked next to the tracks, all lined up, vehicles vertical from bumper to bumper.

The explosives are to attempt to break its wheels, then the derailing tools would be used to fully get it out of the tracks, few in left, few in right.
