CASSIDY GLANCED OVER HER SHOULDER AT the bathroom door in the corner of the Wheeler's basement, slightly ajar as Eleven wanted it. Mike had assured Cassidy that El would be fine, taking it upon himself to clean the girl's face. The latina turned her head back, her leg bouncing up and down from where she was sitting on the couch, Dustin sat across from her in the armchair, playing with his cap.
"He totally likes Eleven, doesn't he?" Cassidy finally spoke up, looking up at the curly-haired boy, knowing he'd have worked it out already.
"Oh, for sure," Dustin nodded, sounding like he'd been expecting her to ask for a while now.
"Abi likes him," Cassidy said quietly, and even though she'd already told him, she felt bad for saying it again. "I know she does, but she's never admitted it. She won't admit it, she's probably waiting for Mike to do it first. I don't want her to get hurt."
"Abi's strong," Dustin clicked his tongue, pulling his hat back over his curly hair, leaning forward on his knees to face her. "She'll work out what's happening for herself and she'll deal with it herself. She always has. Besides, I really think Mike's the last thing on her mind right now."
