“THEY'RE GONE,” MIKE DECLARED AS HE pushed him way back through the fire exit of the gym, Cassidy, Abi, Lucas, Dustin and Eleven all piled together on the bleachers again. Eleven had put her head back down on Cassidy’s shoulder, bringing the towel further around her shoulders as the chilling breeze from the open door blew over her.
“I just saw them,” Cassidy furrowed her eyebrows, giving the boy a confused look. “They were both still in the foyer together when I came back.”
“Well, they’re gone now,” Mike reiterated his point. “Jonathan’s car’s gone.”
“They’re probably just sucking face somewhere,” Dustin shrugged, nonchalantly.
“Oh, my God, ew!” Abigail grimaced, Lucas agreeing with his comment of, “Gross.”
“No. No way!” Mike nodded along with the other three, looking just as disgusted by the possibility as Abigail did.
“Well, you saw them in the foyer,” Dustin looked at Cassidy. “Where would they go?”
“How am I supposed to know?” Cassidy frowned, trying not to shrug too hard as Eleven’s head was still resting on her shoulder. “For all I know, they followed after my dad and the others.”
