AMY: I just wish I could have done something to stop it from happening
NICK: there's nothing you could have done
AMY: yes there is! I could have stopped and talked to her after school let out; even if it would just been for a few minutes it would have been long enough for her to not have gotten in that accident. I could have stopped it! If I could have just taken a little bit of time out of whatever I was doing-
NICK: Don't do that!
AMY: what?
NICK: don't blame yourself!!
AMY: but I could have done something, nothing I was doing that day was important enough to be above her life!
NICK: you didn't know she was going to get in that accident! There is no way you could have known anything was going to happen to her that day! we all could have stopped to talk to her or hold her up in some way, but that doesn't mean that we have any fault or should feel any guilt about it; none of us were the one driving that car!
TORI: there is just no sense in dwelling on something like that; it won't help anything.
NICK: if she was here she would probably say something like "Amy-J! Shut up! I'm not that important, you shouldn't be so upset!"
AMY: God, I can't believe I'm never going to be called Amy-J again...
TORI: she was always one for the nicknames wasn't she?
AMY: if you didn't have some kind of nickname there was no way you were really friends with Celeste
NICK: I didn't have a nickname!
TORI: we call you Nick; your name is already a nickname
NICK: so! I still should've gotten one!
