Ever since I was a little girl I have always dreamt of starting my own family and how holidays will be especially at Halloween time and wonder who will I have a family with. Wondering who will my children be. What will the dress up as at Halloween. Having a big family was the biggest dream I had. However, never did I imagine how sweet it truly is.
In college at LSU I had found the most perfect guy in the library who instantly took my breath away. I must have took his away too because he came up to me asking for my number and took me on a date to the local pizza shop that night. The most perfect guy was the Joe Burrow who lead our college football team to our first championship in years and went on to be the Quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals where I had followed Joe to. Four years later we had gotten married and continue to fall in love with each other everyday.
After me and Joe had gotten married we almost immediately started with having children because, like me, Joe wanted to have a big family and if we had it his way honestly we would have probably six kids already. When we found out I was pregnant the first time it was a bit of a rough pregnancy but our oldest little girl, Jamilynn, was born and she was the absolute perfect little girly girly we could have ever asked for. She is now 4 years old and immediately stole our hearts from the moment she opened her big brown eyes.
From her love of princesses to her love of getting into my makeup she was our perfect girl. After having her I was happy to not be pregnant anymore because of the complications we faced with having Jamilynn. That was until we had a small little surprise when her younger sister who is age 3, Alana, made an appearance not even a year later and she couldn't be more different from her older sister. If she had it her way she would be rolling around in the mud everyday and going to play football just like her daddy.
It was a gloomy and cloudy Tuesday morning that made it almost perfect for Halloween. Me and Joe were fast asleep in bed when I heard the sweet angelic voice of my little Alana, "Mommy! Daddy!" making me smile and look over to the edge of the bed to see her looking at me with her beautiful blue eyes she got from Joe and her dirty blonde curls all scattered on top of her head in her paw patrol pajamas holding her costume in hand.
I giggle "What are you doing awake my sweet Lana girl?" I ask and she smiles "Mommy it's Halloween! I want to get into my costume!" she says holding it up to show me making me laugh slightly. Before I can speak I hear from behind me "Alana girl, it's only 7 am you can't get into your costume until later on tonight" says Joe as he gets up out of bed walking over to her. She pouts "But Jamilynn is in hers already" she says as he picks her up and at that Jamilynn comes in twirling in her bright yellow belle costume.
I laugh slightly to myself "Jamie, you already put in your costume?" I ask and she nods showing me her dress that is clearly on backwards "I want to be ready for trick or treating" she says as Joe chuckles and picks her up "Well that's not till later" he says giving both his girls a kiss on the head. I watch as he puts them on the ground "Why don't we get you back into your jammies for now and then we can go make pancakes?" he suggests and the girls both squeal wiggling out of his grasp as he sets them down and they run out of the room.
Joe smiles and turns to me "How's my girl" he says walking up leaning down to me. I smile and kiss his lips "Would be better once this little man comes out" I say placing a hand on my stomach. He smiles watching and leans down "Be good to your momma in there today bud, we got a long day ahead of us with your crazy sisters" he says kissing it lightly and then leans up kissing my lips again. Just as he pulls away we hear a "Daddy! Come on!" from downstairs making us both laugh as he shakes his head kissing me once more and walks out of the room to go to the two impatient girls.
If you're wondering, yes I am once again pregnant, this one was a more of a surprise then Alana was and at five months we found out the baby is a little boy and we couldn't be more excited to welcome him into the world and see him interact with his older sisters. We were a bit worried that this one would be like Jamilynn and we had slight complications but now the little guy is more active then ever. I am now at 8 months and huge. Just waiting for the little guy to grace us with his presence and complete our family. I sigh happily that my dream of a big family is coming to life.
After making the bed and brushing my teeth I make my way down the stairs that's soon filled with the sounds of laughter and smell of pancakes and bacon that makes my mouth water. Walking into the kitchen I see the sight that has replayed in my head over and over as a little girl. Both girls helping Joe with the pancakes, of course Alana has some batter around her mouth after getting into some of it and and Jamilynn is just following her daddy's rules.
Lana is the first to see me and jumps off her stool and runs up to me "Mommy come look at the pancakes" she says and I laugh "Let me guess they taste good huh?" I ask getting towel wiping her face off as she laughs and nods "Our best ones" she says as I pick her up and look at the pancakes that consist of mickey mouse shaped pancakes making me smile "You guys are doing so good!" I say kissing both her and Jamilynn on the head and Joe on the lips as the girls both say ewwww out loud making me and Joe both laugh and look at them. I set Alana back on her stool so she can get back to work as I sit at the table watching my three favorite people make breakfast as I place my hand on my stomach feeling the little man kick and move.
This is exactly the family I dreamt of.
