SEVEN OUTPACE THE DARK

⚓️

NAMI HAD GONE TO FIND LUFFY, leaving Keeli to roam the labyrinthine halls of the mansion by herself. (Although labyrinthine might be the wrong word at this point — she'd gotten the hang of the layout now.) Actually, Keeli had planned to go straight to her room to get some sleep, to enjoy the luxury of having a real bed, with a soft mattress, feathery pillows, and a warm blanket. But she'd gotten distracted by the antiques displayed in the glass cabinets lining the walls of the hallways. They were from places all over the East Blue — it was really cool.

(Keeli couldn't help but think that Jonah would love them, too...)

A golden hourglass with intricate lines carved into the metal caught her attention, and Keeli crouched down in front of the glass cabinet. The moonlight shining in through the window next to the cabinet illuminated the plaque in front of the hourglass. It came from the Goa Kingdom, but it wasn't indicated from when it was... It looked old, though. Keeli stood back upright as she noticed movements outside the window. Keeli frowned. Who would be out and about at this time of night? As far as she was aware, Kaya's staff didn't include a gardener. And what kind of gardener worked at night, anyway?

An uneasy feeling made her stomach twist into knots as she stepped around the glass cabinet to the window. There were Sham and Buchi, pushing a cart toward the stone well that Keeli had seen when Usopp had led them all through the garden. There was something on the cart but Keeli couldn't make out what exactly it was... They stopped right in front of the well and picked up one of the things on the cart, and now Keeli could see what it was. And it made her blood turn to ice.

       It was Merry.

And he seemed to be unconscious, or worse — dead.

Sham and Buchi carried him to the well, and threw him in. Then they went back and picked up something else. Another body. Keeli squinted, unable to recognize the person. But wait, was that... green hair? Keeli gasped, her eyes widening in horror. Zoro. They threw him down the well, unceremoniously, as if he were garbage. His three swords followed. It seemed as if... Keeli didn't even want to think it... As if they were getting rid of any traces of Zoro, of anything that could connect him to this place.
