14: The Beef

I finally managed to get over... everything. I still was in a little bit of pain. I 100% do NOT believe Chase, he did something, I'm sure of it. I had spoke to Nick over the weekend and I was actually excited to see him in school today.

I packed my bag, fixed my makeup and grabbed a few extra pads. I was on my period, but when I saw the weather, I felt like staying home. I hear Chase coming out of his room, holding his car keys. "Can you-" I say slowly gesturing towards his car keys, he understand and drops me off to school.

Chase has an illegal driving license, but I don't complain, it beats walking to school in such a shit weather. I was gonna get out when he locks the car doors, with us inside. Fuck, was he gonna kiss me?

"Do you speak to Nick?" He asks, which was not what I was expecting.

"Is that an issue with you?" I ask him, trying to open the car door.

"Yeah, stop speaking to him!" He tells me firmly, raising his voice a little.

"Look, I don't need you to play the 'over-protective brother'" I say to him. "I can take care of myself" I say, still struggling to open the door.

"Not around Nick" he says looking at me, seriously.

"You can't stop me from seeing him" I say leaning over to unlock the door, the button was located near the driver's seat, "and besides it's not like you actually want to be in a relationship with me" I say as I climb out, slamming the door behind me.

I see Nick, his beautiful hazel eyes glimmer, as the sun hits them. "How was your weekend with-" he nudges his head towards Chase, I had told him that I'm staying with Chase, currently, but didn't tell him anything else. "Normal" I shrug my shoulders, I actually didn't know what to say, despite everything, we are still ok.

"I don't believe that" he says, "he's a fucking psycho", I look at him, and he looks angry, not at me, at Nick.

So basically, Nick told me that Chase got put in juvenile detention and rehab, because he was mentally unstable and flipped out because, Nick slept with Chase's sister. Wow, the surprises life throws at you, eh. Me and Nick aren't going out, but he's thinking about it.

"How about a date?" He asks, "a nice restaurant, I'll pay" he try's to convince me. "I'll think about it" I say to him. We walk up to science, I've been moved up a set, coz of my brains, duh! But I'm in the same classroom as Chase, and Nick. Oof, the tension.

Nick lets me go before him, and starts to give Chase, death stares, I walk out the classroom and grab Chase by the arm, and pull him back in, we sit next to each other, gives me a chance to tell him.

"Why didn't you bring your boyfriend in, instead?" He asks with a cocky smirk.

"Stop it, your acting like a child, it's pathetic" I whisper to him. "What did he tell you about me, hmm?" He asks, with a tome of harshness. "A few things" I tell him. "Yeah, of course he did, tryna make me look like the bad guy, I bet" he says looking away from me. "Just cool it with the whole 'I wanna smash his face in'" I say to him, "I'll tell, Nick as well". Chase scoffs, "why, can't his small brain take a hint?" He asks, a little more furious, "Chase..." I whisper, placing my hand on his arm.

The teacher starts to talk and I move my hand away. We stay in silence for the rest of the lesson. I wanted to ask him if he had feelings for me, but I know he'd just deny it.

It's lunch time and I've got extremely bad period cramps. "At times like this, you've got to stay hydrated" a voice calls out behind me, it was Holly. "Fuck, do you know too?" I ask, "mmm, too?" She tilts her head in confusion.

I'd started my period yesterday and Chase, like the nosy guy he is, asked why I was in a mood, he said 'I'd rather know whenever you are, so I can be careful around you, y'know', funny dude. He obviously asked because... fuck knows!

Me and Holly sit down, "ugh, why is he such a man-whore?" Holly asks, fixing her gaze on someone, but the way she'd said it made me choke on my food. I coughed my lungs out before following her gaze to Chase. Clearly he didn't take the hint that I HATED him and Zoe being together, and she was there, caressing his hair.

"Mmm" I hum, and shrug my shoulders.

"Have you had sex yet?" She asks, this time I really choke on my food, my face literally turns pink, before I gulp down half my water. "Why, with who?" I say, looking at her, trying to lie to her. Well technically it's not lying, I mean, I slept with Chase, kissed him twice, but not had full on sex.

"Don't lie to me, you've fucked someone, haven't you?", she gasps loudly and dramatically, "naughty girl, Selina, does your mum know what you've been up to?" She asks, I neglected to mention that I had an argument with my mum. "I haven't, I swear to god" I say, laughing, putting a hand on my chest as a swear of oath.

"Mmhmm, a little birdy told me that your staying at Chase's place" she didn't ask, just said, like it was true. "What the fuck?" I mumble under my breath. "Yeah, I am, so?" I say.

She squeals, "you've done it with him, huh?" She places her chin in her palms and her elbows rest on the table, "when, how, why?" She asks. "Woah, didn't you just say that he's such a man-whore?" I ask raising my eyebrows. "Yeah, but that was before you fucked him" she says.

"I didn't, I swear" I say, begging for her to believe me. "Whatever, girly, I think you 2 did something at least".

"But when you do, I'm the first person you tell, ok?" She lifts her eyebrows at me. "Heh, whatever" I say finishing my plate. I suddenly feel a hand on my shoulder, I genuinely thought it was Chase, but it wasn't, "hey, what you talking about?" It was Nick, he takes a seat next to me and Holly said "oh, just about whether or not she's fucking Chase" she grins like the fucking devil before getting up to get something more.

"Heh, what the fuck she on about?" Nick chuckles, he looks at me at frowns, "you aren't, are you?!" "No, no, I would never!" I tell him. "Good, 'cause I told you what he's like, he's a fucking nonce" he says, clenching his jaw tight. I honestly felt bad for him, he actually had to put up with all that crap, and he got put in juvie and rehab, it's sad for his mum, really.

"Who's that?" I say pointing at girl, black hair, big, dark eyes, fully staring Chase down from a distance. "Oh, that's Leah" Nick says.

"How do you know?" I ask, I realize the harsh tone in my voice and bit on my bottom lip. "Calm down, babe, she fucked Chase, not me" woah, what did he just call me. I ignore it and say "oh, ok".
