"Okay mama, thank you. Bye." She ends their call.
When she came out of the shower, Asi was not in their bedroom. She puts on her pyjamas and her gown and goes outside. She finds them sitting on the porch.
She sits down as well, but careful to keep a safe distance from them. She doesn't say anything. But simply stares at the stars. She feels herself getting sleepy, but she doesn't want to go to sleep without Asi next to her. What if they don't come back?
"Just go sleep." Asi says with an irked voice.
"No, I'm fine baby."
"When did you start becoming a liar?" They ask obviously annoyed with her.
She starts crying.
"I'm sorry ."
"For the love of God, stop saying you are sorry." They stand up and lean against the wall.
"What don't I give you or have that makes you want other people Yoliswa? I do everything in my power, but it's not enough for you. I'm not enough for you. I should have known that you would get tired of me." They sit down again, feeling their knees give out.
They loved her too much and the way they were feeling hurt felt like their heart would break in half any minute now.
"Is it because I am not the woman you initially thought I was?"
"How can you even say that Asi? You know I love you just as you are." She stands up looking at them with hurt.
"You are the only one with the key to my heart Asi. You know it. You feel it."
"But why??"
"I don't know..."
"I need some space from you Yoliswa. And I need you to take some time to figure out what you feel for Nozwile."
"I don't appreciate the way you are handling this entire situation and pushing me away. I also didn't ask to care about a random little girl okay? And it's not like I cheated or something and now you are out here, acting like I'm some Delilah. If you try and end our marriage, I'm going to kill myself Asiphile."
They laugh bitterly.
"You don't get to hurt me and then decide how I should react. That's the lowest of blows you could ever go to Yoliswa, threatening me with suicide?"
"Okay fine, you are right. But at least let's figure this out together. Don't do this. And by now you should know that I don't make empty threats."
She walks away, muttering "have your space."
Asi is left speechless.
Seconds after getting in bed, they tense feeling her arms wrap around their body.
"Yoliswa leave alone man."
"I will go and tell dad," she warns them. Asi quickly turns around staring at her in the dark, not believing her.
"Really Yoli, the report to dad card? That's very childish." they accuse.
"I don't care." She steals a kiss and they quickly move away groaning.
They didn't know she could be this infuriating.
Get a wife, they said.
"I love you baby..." She continues holding them and Asi doesn't fight her. She couldn't be sure that she really wouldn't get out of bed and run to tell their dad that they were refusing to let her hold them.
"I said I love you. I'm going to tell dad if you don't say it back."
Asi closes their eyes in frustration.
