"What do you think of this one?" Adelaine asked spinning around in a dark mauve long dress while Alicent stood at looking glass staring at her reflection and playing with her nails, the skin around them already bleeding.
"Lovely" Alicent answered quickly glancing at her younger sister with a slight nod. Adelaine sighed arranging the sleeves from her dress, Alicent tying two locks of red hair behind in a cute bun that had curls covering it, Adelaine on the other hand had two thin braids that reached her shoulders.
"Will you tell me what is the problem with you?" Adelaine asked after Alicent got up from her seat, ready to exit the door.
"It is nothing, Adelaine. Now be quick! We mustn't be late for the tourney" Alicent turned at her sister scolding her about the curiousity on her tongue. The Tourney for the king supposed to come hair was being celebrate after five days, every lord and lady of the realm had been invited, for King Viserys to be able to praise himself for the boy he believed Queen Aemma was growing in her womb. Otto had asked of his two daughters to play nice and be respectable, firstly for the social position their father was handling and secondly for the sake of their house that became a very feared now among the realm, surely it were only Otto's beliefs.
"You are stressed for him, are you not?" Adelaine ran to her sister as they both exited her chamber and headed towards the tourney. Alicent stopped feeling her sister's grip on her arm, the girl sighed deeply before taking Adelaine's hand squeezing and caressing it softly while looking into her eyes.
"I am alright, my sweet sister. Nothing for you to be worried about" Alicent reassured her with a slight nod and a small smile on the corner of her lips.
"But I am! I am terrified, Ali. I am scared for him. I know father said it's time for him to become a man but a tourney?" Adelaine spatted stopping herself in the middle of the corridor, Alicent knew that her sister was right, she usually was in these sort of things but the two could not disagree with their father, it was too much to handle.
"I know, Adelaine, but I'm certain he will handle it just fine, okay?" Alicent asked her sister again praying to the Seven that she will accept it this time and don't put up the subject again because she was not sure what more she could answer. Adelaine sighed deeply disappointed but finally agreeing with her sister, it was not up to them unfortunately and they must live with it.
"Addy! Alicent!" Princess Rhaenyra's delighted voice was heard from the end of the corridor as she ran to embrace her two dear friends.
"You both look amazing!" the realm's delight complimented on which the Hightower sisters gave a quick bow followed by a laugh.

"Father. Your grace" Adelaine bowed after she entered the door from where the king was sitting, greeting her father with a kiss on the cheek before taking her place in between Alicent and princess Rhaenyra.
"Be welcome! I know many of you have traveled long leagues to be at these games. But I promise, you will not be disappointed. When I look at the fine knights in these lists, I see a group without equal in our histories. And this great day has been made more auspicious by the news... that I am happy to share: Queen Aemma has begun her labors!" the king heartly announced raising up on his feet with open hands, Rhaenyra's face dropped at the sudden mention of her mother's labours making Adelaine notice and squeeze her hand tightly.
"It'll be fine" the red headed whispered into her friend's ear but in truth she was not even sure why was she saying it, Adelaine couldn't know for sure what was to happen but she must be strong for Rhaenyra and she will.
"May the luck of the Seven shine upon all combatants!" Viserys added before taking his seat in the middle of the court and letting the games begin. Rhaenyra seemed stressed often glancing at her father and biting her inside lips or arranging her red dress.
"You look beautiful, Nyra. Pretty hot" Adelaine whispered with a chuckle earning a glare from the princess as they both burst into laughter.
"I taught you that" Rhaenyra said while rubbing the necklace she had got from her uncle Aegon five days ago.
"Cute jewelry" Alicent was the one to notice and compliment the princess making her blush a bit.
"A mystery knight?" Rhaenyra asked changing the subject seeing a man she had never met at the tourneys.
"No, a Cole, of the Stormlands" Alicent responded, as her sister made a grimace, the name was as ugly as it sounded.
"I've never heard of House Cole" Adelaine answered as Rhaenyra nodded.
"Princess Rhaenys Targaryen! I would humbly ask for the favor of  The Queen Who Never Was" Lord Boremund Baratheon rode to where the king seated pulling up his lance while Rhaenys come to him. Adelaine watched the woman with a slight of admiration, she always thought that Rhaenys Targaryen was a fierce woman, not only for carrying the name of one of the conquerors but for her strength on not giving up after the succession for the throne was seetled and all the realm would laugh about it but Rhaenys kept her head up.
"Good fortune to you, cousin" the princess said before throwing her crown of flowers right on Boremund's lance.
"I would gladly take it if I thought I needed it" the man said as he arranged his horse and rode back to his place.
"You could have Baratheon's tongue for that" Otto whispered into the king's ear knowing that Lord Baratheon had hardly insulted the princess Rhaenys.
"Tongues will not change the succession. Let them wag" Viserys answer was simple, it was not use in dealing with minor issues such as this.
