My Life

(Jisoo's POV)

I wake up and go to the guest bathroom to see dark circles under my eyes and my hair is a complete rat's nest.

Yeah.

That's what I get for trying to kiss my wife and then she refuses because of a deal she made up that she wants me to follow. And I will!

I can't show her any weakness anymore!

I go into the shower and when I come out, I sneak discreetly into the main bathroom and steal make up to cover up my dark circles.

And I think I did I well enough job, so I slide on my uniform and pants before going to our shared closet to grab my gun hidden amongst the clothes in a safe. I slide in a belt and buckle it before smoothing out my uniform and going down the stairs to make me coffee.

I walk down and see Jennie wearing a cream colored sweater with black slacks and pouring a steaming pot of coffee into two glasses.

I smile as I walk forward and she slides the cup across the kitchen countertop.

We drink in silence and I take in her fresh face and I stole the make up this morning before she woke up so I know that she isn't hiding tiredness from me.

Once we finish drinking, Jennie comes up to me, really close, to where I'm sitting and swipes a finger under my eyes and make up goes with it.

She grins and kisses my cheek. "Love you Jisoo. Bye!"

She grabs her doctor's coat and leaves.

I scoff and go back to drinking my coffee.

(Jisoo's POV)

When I walk into the station, the first face I see is the....ditch.

"Jisoo! Hi!" She smiles and holds out a hand for me to shake.

I glare at her and cross my arms over my chest.

She retreats her hand back and says, "I hope we can...sort out our differences."

I still glare.

She sighs. "We have to work together because this lawyer-police thing was your idea."

"Okay but I didn't think I would have to work with you!" I fume.

"Is there something wrong?"

I turn around and see the chief, Lincoln, standing there.

I smile. "Everything's great Linc."

He nods with a barely there smile and turns his dark gaze to Irene. "Have a good first day Ms.Bae."

Irene nods and he walks off.

She turns back to me. "I came to see you mainly because we already have a case together."

I tighten my jaw. "Of course we do."

"Can't you be civil with me?" She asks with a slight pleading tone. "I know I was a major bitch but I went to therapy and sorted out my problems. I'm different now. So please....give me another chance."

I go over to the keys hung on the side and say, "Well....let's go Ms.Bae."

"Who are we meeting?" I ask while driving with Irene sitting next to me in the passenger seat.

She opens the file and says, "Kim Jong-In."

I blink. "That name sounds familiar..."

"It says that he also goes by Kai."
