I Don't Know

(Jisoo's POV)

Jennie and Rosie went out of the room together and that left me with little Lisa.

"So do you prefer Junior or....?" I ask.

She shrugs her shoulders. "I prefer Lisa. Junior. Princess. Whatever you want."

I smile and raise an eyebrow. "Princess?"

She nods. "But I like Junior better."

I nod. "Okay Junior. What do you do all day?"

Junior sits back and taps her chin as she thinks. "I draw. Color. Read," she waved to the side where a variety of books ranging from picture books to Harry Potter are stacked on the side.

I look at her in surprise. "You read Harry Potter at 8?"

She nods. "When did you read it?"

I sit down in a chair and place my officer cap at the door of the bed. I cross one leg over my knee and lean back to think.

"I think I was maybe 15 or 16."

"Why did you wait so long?!" She asks with frustration. "It's SOO good!"

I nod. "I know but I was in 7th grade when I was 15."

She tilts her head. "What?"

I lean forward and tap her forehead. "My brain doesn't work like yours. My brain works slower. I'm able to do stuff but I catch onto things later."

I pull away and grin shamelessly. "That's why I married the smartest woman alive."

Junior shakes her head. "Nope. My mom is the smartest woman alive."

I raise an eyebrow. "Really? What does she do?"

"She teaches....she teaches....Kem-stree."

I tilt my head. Kem-stree?

"Are you sure?" I ask and she nods up and down.

Kem-stree? What's Kem—

"Chemistry, wifey," Jennie says as she walks in.

I turn to her and snap and point at her face. "I knew it sounded familiar."

I look back at Junior. "Chemistry? That's cool. Does she teach kids?"

She shakes her head. "She teaches at a....Cliff."

I feel my heart stop. "A CLIFF?!"

"Jisoo," Jennie says gently. "She probably teaches at Clifford University."

"Ohhhhhh!" I nod with understanding.

Junior giggled and sits back.

Rosie comes in and sits on the other side of the bed and all three of us talk for a bit before Rosie says she needs to go and both me and Jennie say happy birthday.

She gives a smile that is different before she leaves.

I hear Jennie sigh and I look up at her. "What happened?"

Jennie shakes her head. "I'll tell you later. Don't you have work?"

"I do but I was heading to checkup on a patient from an accident. They're doing well and so I thought I would drop by and say a quick hello." I look back at Junior. "All three of them talk a lot about you so I wanted to see for myself."

Junior points to her face. "And what do you think?"

I smile and stand up. I grab my police hat and place it on my head before going forward and pinching her cheek. "I think you're wonderful."
