3 weeks later...
(Jisoo's POV)I wake up startled with distant wailing.
I shoot up to a sitting position in bed and rub my eyes tiredly.
Jennie sits up beside me but ends up dropping her head onto my shoulder and going back to sleep.
The baby named Jackie Kim is about a month and a half old and currently driving Jennie and I insane with no sleep for the past few days.
I gently shove Jennie back into bed and I throw my legs out, grumbling tiredly under my breath.
I push open the door to the guest bedroom that we converted into a nursery.
I walk to the crib and see Jackie crying and wailing and sobbing and...that's the extent of my vocabulary right now.
She's screaming her lungs out and I don't get how Jennie can still be asleep.
I take a deep breath and turn on the light. I see the checklist Jennie posted on the side and followed the list to "Jackie crying".
If Jackie is crying:
1) check diaper
1.5) Just change it!
2) is she hungry?
2.5) baby milk in fridge
3) is she scared?
3.5) stay with herSometimes I think Jennie lost a bit of her mind recently but, whatever makes her happy.
I lift Jackie up and check her diaper to see that she's fine. But she did stop crying so I guess she was probably scared.
I look at her and kiss her cheek. "Why are you scared? You now have two mommy's! There is no need to be scared! If you get physically hurt or kidnapped, then I'm here to help. If you are sick or not feeling well inside, then Jennie is there to help. What are you so afraid of, huh?"
I stare into her large eyes and she looks back at me as if trying to memorize my voice.
I look back at the checklist and see that I have to stay with her....
But I'm also really tired.
I turn off the light and carry her with me to the bedroom.
I see Jennie rolled over on her side facing me with closed eyes and paced breaths.
I kiss her head and she frowns and slightly opens her eyes to see me. "Jisoo?" She says in a husky voice.
Calm Jisoo. You're holding a baby.
"Can she sleep with us?" I ask.
She lays on her back. "Jisoo...." She covers her face in her hands. "We built a nursery for a—"
"Please. I saw the checklist. But I'm tired too and she's scared. The comfy chair for that room won't come until the day after tomorrow."
She just sighs and moves over.
"I love you," I say with a smile and she scowls but turns on her side as I place Jackie in the center and cover the blankets till our waist so that the baby is properly covered.
Jennie gently lays a hand on Jackie's body, nearly covering the entirety of it. I move closer and angle myself so that my forehead touches Jennie's and there's still enough room for the baby.
"Jisoo," Jennie whispers after the baby had been sleeping for a few minutes.
I brush my nose against hers and open my eyes a bit. "Yeah?"
"Nothing."
"Jennie....just tell me."
"I love you," she whispers with a smile in her voice.
