Truths

(Jennie's POV)

Rosie just stayed for one night and is planning to leave this morning after I make some cheer up pancakes.

She ate them with a smile and I think trying to drown her sadness in them because she ate about 8 medium, good-sized pancakes.

(Poor Jisoo only got 2 and I had to promise her I would make her them again. She pouted, gave Rosie a kiss on the cheek and left for work because they were searching for someone.

I don't like Jisoo working with Irene and she doesn't either so it's fine with me.)

I sit down at the table as Rosie finishes her last pancake.

"Don't you have work?" She asks without looking at me and a half mouthful of food.

I shrug. "I took a half day off in case you needed me in the morning again. You're more important."

She swallows her food and freezes.

"I'm not important to Lisa," she whispers.

I widen my eyes. "Wait! Rosie! I didn't mean it like that! I'm sure Lisa—"

"Jennie," she says calmly. "We talked before we broke up. She told me things just didn't turn out the way we had dreamed. I wasted 5 years of life...."

The way she said the last sentence.

She didn't sound convincing.

I reach across and hold her wrist. "We both know that you would never think that."

She nods. "I didn't waste anything. I still love her. I could never love anyone more than her."

I sigh and rub my thumb over her wrist. "Are you sure you don't want to stay here? We wouldn't mind. It's like we're going to be doing anything until Jisoo explains herself."

Rosie looks up at that. "Oh Jennie! I'm so sorry! I never asked or—"

"I heard some of the nurses say this: Girl be so for real! You are going through a break up!"

I see Rosie laugh and it makes me feel nice.

"You're right but still how is it? Did she give any hints at all?"

I roll my eyes. "None. Nothing! I almost got something in the hospital but that bitch Irene called in the middle for work!"

Rosie blinks. "She's working with Irene?"

I stare at her. "How about you stay another hour and I catch you up on my life? Give you something else to think about?"

She nods and I let go of her hand so that she can finish her food.

(Jisoo's POV)

"Jisoo!" I hear Irene shout.

I groan and I see her storm into my office.

"What do you want Irene?"

She crossed her arms. "Why are you moving me to a different station?"

I stand up and I basically tower over her. I see her swallow and glance away for a second before looking me in the eyes again.

"I don't want you here. You caused me enough grief and Jennie isn't ready to see you."

Her eyes flash angrily. "You can't move because of a personal reason. That has to be against something."

I shrug. "I'm the Captain here. The Chief doesn't care about these things."
