NEIGHBOURS

I was running late for work as per usual. I was half asleep and rushing out the door when I heard a voice. An upbeat voice. It was literally 8am why would someone be so loud and happy at this hour.

"Hi! I'm Ty. I'm new to the building." He said to me and I looked up at him. He held his had out to shake and I did so in a confused manner. He was hot but also so loud. I remembered  I didn't have time to make new friends and let go. I quickly walked passed him and made my way down the stairs.

When I got to the bottom of the stairs I looked back at him and smiled.

"Aren't you gonna tell me your name?" He asked and I shook my head.

"No I gotta run." I responded and made my way to work. Hurrying the whole way.

I was only a few minutes late today. I spent the whole day thinking about this Ty guy I'm not sure why.

Time flew by at work. I couldn't wait to get home and sleep for the whole weekend. I just wanted to spend some time alone.

I got to my front door and heard the same voice I heard that morning coming from behind me.

"Hey it's you again!" He exclaimed and I shot round.

"Oh hi." I smiled and remembered how I blew him off hours before.

"When did you move in?" I asked while unlocking my door.

"Oh like 4 days ago. I'm just trying to make friends with the neighbours, sorry I bothered you this morning." He said awkwardly.

"It's no problem. Sorry I was so rude this morning, I'm just not a morning person." I smiled.

"I'm the complete opposite." He replied and laughed a little.

"Do you wanna come inside? I'm about to make myself dinner why don't I fix you something too." I asked and me smiled.

"You wouldn't mind?" He asked with an unsure look on his face.

"Of course not. Come inside." I told him and ushered him in.

I headed for the kitchen and he followed me in. He wanted to help with dinner but I told him to just sit and wait.

"So where did you move from?" I asked while plating the food.

"Just outside city." He replied.

"Oh really? So you're a country boy?" I asked teasingly and laughed.

"I guess so?" He responded embarrassed.

We continued to get to know eachother and we didn't realise that it was getting late. I even opened a bottle of wine since I wasn't working in the morning.

It felt like I had known him for years but it had been less than 24 hours.

Even though we were both tipsy, we were able to hold great conversations.

Suddenly the conversation died down and we were sitting on the sofa in silence.

I wasn't going to lie, ty was attractive. You know what alcohol does, right? All of my feelings felt heightened, and I felt like kissing Ty.

So I did.

I leaned in and connected our lips. He seemed startled by the suddenness but kissed me back shortly after.

"What was that for?" He asked while trying to hide his smile. I was a bit embarrassed by my action but he seemed to enjoy it.

'Did he enjoy that? Does he wanna go further? I wanna go further...' I trailed off in my head.
