Chapter 67 : Union
Going through the day had been hard. Ruhaani conveniently blamed her hormones for it all. She had never been rendered so desperate for anyone before. There wasn't a single time when she had met his gaze and not thought of his hands roving her body or his hard body pressing against hers. He had corrupted her mind with the teaser right in the morning. She had tried her best to avoid any interactions through the day. She no longer trusted her restrain.
It left her feeling overwhelmed, frankly. Just thinking of how much he desired her made her feel special. There was no doubt that Aadarsh was bestowed with a body that could trap a women's desires. But Ruhaani took pride in the control she had over her needs and desires, and still, she wasn't immune to his charm.
There had never been anyone other than Harsh who had touched her intimately and made love to her. She would never forget her first. It was driven by a maddening reluctance to part. They had just got married. They had just started having a bond like a new friendship. Just few days of a good change. But out of nowhere he had to leave and they had ended up consummating their marriage in an urge to get more of each other in the short time they could.
It was straightforward. It was needy. It was not messy. It was simple.
With Aadarsh everything became messy. Her feelings. Her desires. Her emotions. He turned her world upside down. Yet she never felt threatened or destroyed. In fact, she only ended up yearning more for him. He was like the storm in her calm.
Love was a tornado. She loved Aadarsh, her husband, the man who fathered her daughter; the man who thrived her family. The man who survived through hell and came out a survivor just like her. There was a deep resonating understanding, a mutual respect and love. She only fell a little more in love with him, with every passing day.
Lust was an inferno. Aadarsh sparked lust in her. The raw need to feel him physically close to him. The maddening desire to give him control over her mind, soul and body. To blindly trust him with whatever he did. And to evoke in him the same fire, to burn with him.
Love was a patience that never died. Lust, an impulsive impatience that was never quenched. Ruhaani found herself torn between feeling the two strong contrasting emotions that were still the two sides of the same coin.
She looked at herself in the mirror. Despite what they shared in the morning she felt a tad bit nervous. Her erratic heartbeat was back again. She stood in front of the mirror in their walk-in-closet and ran a gaze down herself.
She had gathered her courage and worn something sexy. It was a pair of a satin shorts that had lace at the waistband and hem; and a black lace bralette that not just clung to her breasts highlighting it's shape but also gave a fair see-through glimpse of her skin.
She was reconsidering it. Maybe this was too much. She had never felt the need to look sexy as she did tonight. She slowly wore the glossy satin robe that came with the set and tied the satin tie around her waist. The material felt soft against her skin. It made her feel nice and weirdly ready.
Her hand reached the top of her head where her hair was tied into a bun. She undid the bun and let her hair fall loose. Shaking her head slightly, to let her hair cascade down, she picked her comb and quickly brushed her hair. He liked her hair like that.
She kept the comb back in the drawer on the side when she thought her hair looked perfect and stepped back from the full length mirror. Just before the wedding she had had her hair cut reducing the length, they now ended at the mid of her back instead at the end of it. Her split-ends were gone making her hair look healthier. She had grown to like her new hairstyle. Maybe she had grown to like herself a little bit more too, after the wedding. Her gaze inched up the mirror, the robe didn't even reach her knees, it ended at her mid-thigh. There was way too much of her skin exposed. The deep V of the robe and the bralette revealed her skin too.
