Mild themes that some viewers may not be comfortable with.

Warning Kotoha meets Douma at a young age and nothing happens till she is sixteen. Normal for back then but forwarning to those who aren't comfortable with that kind of relationship.

He first appeared to her when she was six years old. Her mother was sick and she remembered where ginger roots grew during winter.

Night had fallen quickly and she had gotten lost.

A scared girl that had curled up uselessly against a tree.

The wind howled and she whimpers, clenching to the root she had found.

She was going to freeze to death and her poor mother would die from her illness and heartbreak.

"Poor thing, what's an adorable thing like you doing here?" Kotoha looks up from her arms to see a man kneeling before her. His cloak was whipping in the wind along with his sliver-colored hair. But his most defining feature was his colorful eyes.

His smile was strange with sharp canines.

She was scared and Kotoha saw no reason to fear him. She gets up and holds herself, the wind making her feel colder.

"Sir, can you help me please?"

The man chuckles and offers his hand to her. His nails were sharp.

When she takes hold, she notes that his hand was cold. Maybe it's from the winds.

The man gives his oversized cloak to her, carrying her when her legs refused to move anymore. He would laugh when she hid herself under his hair.

She would fall asleep in secure arms and wake up in her futon. His cloak was still on her. Not wanting to tell her mother where she was, she would hide the cloak under the floorboards.

The region she lived in had a legend. That a deity walks the forest, capturing young girls and taking them away. But the fortune of the area would spike. Longer autumn and early spring would occur.

That winter had been a long one and the legend was brought up.
Kotoha didn't much care for the legend. Her mother was recovering now.

She wouldn't notice that the area around her home would get less snow for the rest of winter.

She wouldn't meet him again till she was thirteen.

Kotoha thought the experience was a fever dream but she was once again in the snow when her savior appeared.

He stood at the treeline, in a crimson kimono and she now was as tall as his mid torso. She didn't really think about his height when she was a child but he would stand over any man in her village.

Her arms were full of wood when he made himself known.

"What is a beauty doing work in the dead of winter?" He was beginning to circle her like a fox would when he found a rabbit hole.

Her excitement got the better of her.

"It's you!" She drops the wood and takes his hand. It was as cold as she remembered. He watches her, tilting his head at her actions.

"Please come with me! I have something for you."

She tugs on his arm and soon they are walking back to her home.

"Do you not have anyone?" The man asks as he enters the house, wind howls through the cracks and the fire is low but still Kotoha digs through the floorboards.
