An Average Life: Resort

Part 1

Rocky stood on her porch on the phone with Servo. She watched her family pack their things into the back of their car, while she put in her notice.

"How long will you be gone?" Asked Servo.

"Less than a week." Replied Rocky. "We go to this resort almost every year around Christmas. Don't worry, I'll be back before you know it."

"I'm just worried about something bad happening while you're gone. We need you with Diana in recovery, and Glen no longer part of our team."

"What about Grace?"

"Her leg is healed, but she doesn't want to strain herself. And before you ask, we're worried about Rose possibly injuring her baby."

Rocky bit her nails.

"I-I'm sure you'll be fine." She said. "You still have Vivian, Skylar, Mary, Beep and Pixel to help you out. And with Citrus, Ripple and Raven in training, that means that you're still technically safe."

"Mary's in recovery." Replied Servo.

"What? What happened?" Asked Rocky.

"She got shot, and unrelated but now she's experiencing neck pain."

Sienna looked up to the porch and called to Rocky.

"Rocky, hon! Let's go!" She said. "We don't wanna be late!"

"Coming mom!" Replied Rocky.

Rocky grabbed her suitcase's handle and began walking towards the car.

"I'll be back soon." She said to Servo. "Tell Citrus that Chris and I both said hi."

"Alright." Replied Servo. "Talk to you soon."

Rocky hung up.

"Love you.." Murmured Servo.

A few seconds later, Pixel walked up and sat at it's desk.

"You need to tell her, bro." It said.

"She knows." Replied Servo. "We just.. haven't really considered dating yet. Y'know, cat and robot thing, wouldn't really work out."

Grace looked up from her desk.

"Hey guys?" She said. "No offense but I'm trying to focus here."

Servo walked over to Grace's desk, and looked at her screen. She was reading an email from Rome.

"What is it?" Asked Servo.

"Well it looks like there's a disturbance at Six Springs." Replied Grace. "Apparently their security systems located something.."

Servo pulled up a chair and sat down. Grace opened a file attached to the email, and examined it's contents. A small, stretched out jpeg showing splotches of colors on a black background was the only thing that could be seen.

"The hell?" She said. "It says their scanners picked up this."

"Why do they even have scanners?" Asked Servo.

"Well it's a long story, but from what I've read it looks like the building was constructed over grounds that contain Earth Rock, and the security systems are there to prevent theft."

Pixel walked over and looked at the screen.

"Those are protogen signals." It said.

"Huh?"

"Those are used for controlling protogens, specifically lower quality, non sentient protogens."

"Elaborate." Said Grace.

"Well, Servo, Beep and I are sentient." Said Pixel. "There's other 'robits' that aren't sentient, and are controlled by a higher power. Y'know, like the sims."

Grace nodded.

"I'm assuming this place doesn't have any protogen employees." Said Servo.

"I don't think so." Replied Grace. "This means that there's something going on here, and we gotta go check it out."

Grace got another ping. She clicked on the message, and found an image that showed what appeared to be a large underground structure that was completely flooded. It looked dark, and was full of cobwebs. Large pipes ran in and out of the water.

"What's that?" Asked Servo.

"It's the bowels of the building." Said Grace. "It looks like it's been flooded."

"That's too much water for an ordinary flood." Replied Pixel. "Unless we're dealing with f*BEEP*ing Poseidon."

"The building's built above a spring. They paved it over and tried to build over it, not knowing that the Earth Rocks were inside."

"We need to get down there and investigate." Said Servo."

"We need to come up with a plan, first." Replied Grace. "We need to find the source of the flood, locate the crystals and make sure they're safe, have someone get the security camera footage, and then take a log of everyone who's booked a room, so we can possibly try and catch the culprit, if they're still there."

"That sounds like it's gonna take a lot of work, and a lot of help. I'd ask Rocky, but she went to a resort with her family."

"What resort?" Asked Grace.

Servo froze.

"Uh-oh."
