As Elize and I walked in the office, I couldn't help feeling my heart racing in my chest. The more steps I took, the drier my throat got.

I just stood there, in front of Dumbledore, who might thought that I'm challenging him into a staring contest.

Elize sensed my awkwardness and begun the conversation herself.

"Professor. We have found an important clue about the petrified people situation." She spoke confidently.

"Even though I shouldn't encourage you students to be involved in this mess, I suppose I no longer have a choice. I'm listening." Dumbledore replied, motioning is to sit on the huge, velvet armchairs in front of his desk.

Elize looked at me as we did so, and I smiled goofily at her in response. She cleared her throat and I finally got the hint, I had to start talking.

"So.. Riddle and I searched the library. As you probably have guessed by now, this isn't a casual spell we're dealing with. We looked for a curse. And we found a very accurate explanation, while studying a magical creature. The Basilisk, to be exact." I explained, and then exhaled loudly.

"A basilisk? That's impossible. There are no reports of the creature for decades." The professor replied, while fidgeting with his beard.

"Is there any way that The Dark Lord has sneaked the monster in the castle?" Elize asked him.

"Not likely. There isn't a room as huge to be fitting the snake in the castle." He said.

"Not that we know of.. But maybe you do. You know this place better than anyone." I spoke, smiling softly.

"Not anyone. Just as well as He did, it seems." He answered, his eyes scanning for a map inside a drawer.

"Is there any secret space in the building? Sealed maybe? Not accessible?" I wondered out loud.

"Miss Silver.. Your prediction is right on the mark." The professor replied, pointing at a certain part of the map.

"The Chamber of Secrets?" Elize read.
"Could this really be it?"

"There's only one way to find out, sister." I replied, standing up.

This is the time.

"Wait. If your assumptions are correct, the danger you're facing is serious." Dumbledore stopped me in my tracks.

"I'm aware. But the time has come. We should begin fighting back." I replied.

"She's right. We can't just wait for Voldemort to kill us all." Izzy commented.

"Very well. I shall be prepared to help you if you need it." He spoke calmly.

Izzy and I nodded and walked out of the room in silence. Was this really about to happen?
