Chapter 5, I Should've Never Gone To 1998

They woke up in a dark alleyway with a skateboard next to them, Ashley picked up the skateboard and slowly walked forward towards the exit into a park until she saw a shadowy figure. It walked towards her, instead of running away she threw the skateboard right at the shadowy figures head.
"What did you just do!" Shouted Maisie
He stood up, he held a skateboard and was extremely hot. Maisie facepalmed at the sight in front of her. One would say friendship in a instant, he walked over to her and stated
"Hello, I'm Oliver, Shredder Of The North."
"You do skateboarding?"
"Yes, I always do music aswell when I can."
"So do I!"
He had brown hair and a backwards baseball cap with emerald green eyes reflecting off the sun. He was roughly 23 years old. Zoey had already ran off to do something possibly including sauce.

They went off to do skateboarding, but things went downhill from there. Some shadowy figures hid in the corners of the park, they start doing insane moves where there clearly was a better person out of the group. The figures wore fox masks and had tracked them down from 2073. James and Magnet had found them (even though Magnet was in a local Burger King).
He sneaked up on them as they were next to each other, but then Magnet came.
"I ordered a whopper with no lettuce!"
"I don't care! Eat it."

They started fighting, they ran away at the opportunity.  When the fight ended, Magnet was on the floor while they were at the other skate park. He began to chase them down with his wolf mask and rollerblades. Ashley and Oliver started speeding down the road while Lewis and Maisie were way behind. James managed to catch Lewis and shortly after Maisie, Oliver and Ashley were way ahead but James had a plan. He used a small bleeping device which would make high pitched and annoying sounds. Ashley was caught swiftly and Oliver soon followed. He rode down the streets and used a type of gas to make them sleep.

They woke up in a facility with dim light above them, they were tied to chair which felt like it could break at any slight movement. A heavy duty door metal door guarded an exit. The only way you could escape would be to take out James.
"Well well.. which one of you will I experiment on first."
"Oliver." Stated everyone except Ashley who couldn't even be bothered to talk.
"Sure then! I'll do him."
He threw Oliver into a chamber that seemed to neutralise him, then he flicked a switch which seemed to release a teal liquid. Then he shoved some curtains around the chamber as they watched in horror as they heard screams. He pulled the curtains to reveal an absolutely tiny version of him, he was practically the size of a 18X version smaller version of himself. He death stared into nothingness as he couldn't comprehend his current form. His heart raced and his body felt heavy, he felt like he had lost his humanity.
"Who wants it next-"
But then Magnet walked through the door, opened the chamber and started fighting James. They ran out the door immediately after with the exception of Ashley.
"What happened!"

"I don't know! We gotta get outta here."
She picked him up and ran straight for the exit. They broke the door of the building and started running down the street. People were eating lunch at this time and were shocked when they saw a rollerblading cloaked figure with a wolf mask. But then in the corner of his eye he saw something, Magnet was in the chippy. He held a fish suspiciously, a terrible crime. James grabbed the skateboard Oliver had left behind, they held their weapons in the chippy ready to fight. James started beating Magnet onto the floor as blood leaked from his nose. He threw Magnet outside the window which barely damaged his body, the others came over to watch it hoping not to get seen. But they were seen, they couldn't run.
"Oliver.. let's finish this now."
"Why do you hate me so much! I don't get it!"
"Rollerbladers hate skateboarders, that's the rule."
"I am sure we can negotiate this-"
He kicked him right across the chippy, Ashley managed to catch his wounded body. She handed him to Maisie and unleashed her anger, she grabbed his shoulder and uppercutted him.

"I didnt wanna do this, but I gotta now."
The punch sent him flying across the chippy right out the window. James lunged at Ashley but to no avail, she roundhouse kicked him around the face which knocked him out. They ran at the opportunity as he was knocked out.
"You can come to my house!"
"Will your parents be fine?" Shouted Ashley
"They're on holiday in Spain! They'll never notice."
So they set off to stay at the house at the night, it was at a good view of the city. Ashley and Oliver sat on the roof and spectated the sunset, they could see the Bullring and the iconic skyline from their roof. BANG! A massive explosion reverberated from the local McDonald's. Oliver and Ashley saw Zoey running up the hill.
"Who is she!"
"Zoey, she is insane."
She shouted that she found it after blowing up the McDonald's to Lewis downstairs.
"I'm really sorry that I caused you to.. take that form."
"Yeah.. it will stay with me forever which will kind of suck."
Ashley pulled out a small carved skateboard painted black and red, it had a skull and bones icon on the top.
"This is for you, I know it doesn't help much but it's the best I can do."
"I guess it was gonna happen anyways, it's not your fault."
"Did you use to work?"
"Yeah.. I worked as a technician.. I don't like to talk about it."
He pulled out the skateboard and started trying to do some simple tricks, then he saw a little switch. Then a parachute came out and he fell off.
"You alright?"
"I'm fine.. it's because.. I fell for you."
"That was smooth!"Shouted Lewis in a sarcastic voice. Ashley's cheeks lit red, she leaned down and gave him a hug.
"Should we sleep up here tonight?"
"I mean.. why not?"
He walked over and climbed up her body, he placed his cap over his and slowly fell asleep.
"Wake up!" Shouted Lewis
They catapulted back into the window and down the stairs, they saw the group gathered around a singular table which had the fabled McDonald's Szechuan Sauce on it. It was a massive metal barrel with a brown label on it, Zoey explained why she needed this.
"We gotta use the sauce in small doses so I can use most of it to upgrade my IQ."
"Err.. how will a sauce help."
"It is extremely spicy and raises my IQ for about 30 minutes."
She continued to explain the effects while Oliver and Ashley went back to the roof.
"We got to get rest for tomorrow."
"Yeah.. gotta be like this tomorrow."
"You'll get over it!"
They fell asleep next to each other, it was only eight in the night which showed how exhausted they were, it was time to get ready to leave Kingstanding and enter Solihull, it failed in 2023 but could be possible in 1998.
Solihull would have to be another time, they had another goal.
