1 year later.

"Oh my goodness! Elle!" My great aunt Becky burst through the creaking wooden door, her eyes filled with joy and a heartwarming smile as she embraced me with a lifetime's worth of love.
"Hey Nana." I laughed hugging her head.
"Gorgeous as always." She caressed my cheek for a slight moment. I stared into her eyes. Blue. Same as mine.
It was 6th year and we finally got to go back home for christmas.
Every year my father invited some of our extended family for dinner.
I was happy. My spark was back.
Ever since Mattheo disappeared. I couldn't live with myself.
For what felt like forever.
I loved him.
I loved him.
More than I wanted to admit.
It took me over 8 months of crying myself to sleep.
Starving myself until I passed out.
And telling myself he would come back,
before I finally accepted that he was gone.
I accepted it though.
I was ok now.
"Enzo!!! My baby ohhh!!" She released from me and ran to pull down Enzo to her level. "My goodness you are so talll!!" I laughed at his expression as she pampered him with kisses.
"Elle!!" I turned around to see my Uncle Halbert standing next to my cousin. His bushy beard hanging just below his chin. My eyes wandered beside him.
"Dalia!" I ran up and hugged her tight. She smelled of lavender and honey.
"Elle! I missed you!"
"Me too." I mumbled against her puffy coat.
"Hey kiddo how you doin?"
"Great." I smiled bright and looked down in my uncles arms.
"Hey Wenny!!" I lifted her gently from his grasp.
"Elle!!" I spun her around happily as she giggled. Adorned in a vibrant purple dress, giggled with delight as I spun her around, creating a whirlwind of laughter and pure childhood joy.
"Did you make your cornbread?"
"Wes. Sissy haz itz." She pointed her chubby finger to Dalias hands with a Tupperware container in it.
"Wonderful! It wouldn't be Christmas dinner without it." I kissed her on her soft red hair and carefully carried her over to Enzo.
"Enzwo!!" She giggled. Falling out of my arms and into his.
"How's my favorite little gremlin!" He teased.
A giggle forced itself out of me.
Suddenly, a large metal clank was heard throughout our little cottage.
