If you were to tell me a month ago that I would be sitting in my bedroom with Octavia after our first big win of the season not only playing twenty questions, but also actually enjoying myself... then I would've laughed in your face.
"Do you have any siblings?" She asks.
"A brother and sister."
My brother Jackson was three years older than me making him twenty two, he's just graduated UCLA and is planning to go to law school and my sister Nova was two years younger, making her seventeen and a senior at high school.
We all try our best to find time for FaceTime calls together but as all our schedules are pretty hectic we don't talk, let alone see each-other as much as we used to.
Thanksgiving and Christmas are really the only times we see eachother as a family, during those times we make it a phone free place so we can enjoy each others company as much as possible.
Last Christmas mom actually confiscated our phones, even took dads too which he wasn't too happy about because he kept googling words that Nova was saying as he didn't have a clue what they meant.
Slay being one of them, at first he thought she was talking about Santa's sleigh but then got confused when she said "oh that's slays!" When Jackson showed off his Christmas jumper.
We had to explain to him that it the new lingo this generation are using, it basically means he looked good to which dad responded with "what happened to the good old days where you just said 'oh that's a nice jumper' ayyy?"
Dad was behind on his time but he made it his mission to get in with the lingo by doing research about all the slang words they used and then brought them up in conversation whenever he spoke to us, I couldn't help but laugh.
He's a real idiot but I love him.
"Do you have any pets?" She asks.
"No, but I've always wanted a dog."
"Omg same! I want a Labrador." She squeals excitedly grabbing ahold of my bicep and squeezing it before letting go.
I wanted her closer to me, I wanted to feel her skin on mine. Why? I don't know.
I place my hands on her hips and lift her up, placing her down on my lap. My hand automatically finds its way onto her cheek as she leans more towards me, our foreheads touching and breaths mixing.
I want to kiss her so badly right now.
"Can I kiss you?" Rose's voice breaks through my thoughts.
Please.
"Is that a question?" I raise an eyebrow.
"If you want it to be." She shrugs. "I just really want to kiss you."
My stomach does that twirling thing again.
What the fuck is wrong with me?
"Yes." I find myself responding.
