The wedding was boring, don't get me wrong, it was perfect but also very boring. Who knew those things dragged on for ages?
Like Jesus fucking Christ, say your vowels, say I do and kiss. It's not that hard surely? But the Vicar was ranting and raving about anything and everything which caused the ceremony to last forty five minutes longer than it should've.
Thankfully the reception was in full swing, we ate dinner which was pork chops, mashed potato and vegetables, Celine had chosen her and dads favourite dinner in the end and said whoever didn't like it could just order take out later because she didn't care. I also drank a ton of alcohol— it's a free bar, how could I not?
I see Paytons aunt Georgina sulking in the corner at her table, the one closest to the bathroom— a satisfying smile appeared on my lips the minute I saw her take the seat, her eyes srunched together in disgust and she tried getting someone else to switch seats with her but nobody did.
Payton finished giving her speech and hands the microphone to me, i down the remainder of my drink before clearing my throat and bringing the microphone to my mouth.
Shit, I'm so nervous.
"I just wanted to start off by saying thank you to each and every one of you for being here and celebrating the wedding we've been waiting forever for." I begin saying which causes the crowd to erupt into laughter.
"Dad, when you first brought Celine and Payton into our lives, I was scared. I was so afraid you'd no longer have time for me, that they'd be the wicked stepmother and stepsister from Cinderella but it was the complete opposite...
"When you asked my permission to ask Celine to marry you, words can't describe how truly happy I was. Both of them coming into our lives made it perfect, they were our final puzzle piece to complete our family." I take a breath and look to my left where dad and Celine were both crying.
"Dad, I love you so much and I'm so happy you've found someone as gorgeous, amazing and creative as Celine to call your wife."
Dad stands up and brings me into a hug. "I love you princess." He sobs in my ear.
He pulls away from the hug and I smile widely at him giving his hand a little squeeze before he goes to sit back down, I turn to look at Celine and smile at her.
"I think it's been long awaited, nine years to be exact..." I take a deep breath. "But Celine, you're the best mom any girl could dream of having and I'm so lucky to call you that, I'm immensely thankful for you everyday. I love you."
She looks at me, her bottom lip quivering and immediately stands up running towards me and eloping me in a hug.
"You called me mom." She whispers in my ear, I can hear the little sniffle coming from her.
We break away from the hug and I grab her hand holding it in mine squeezing it a little. "I hope that's ok?" I ask.
"Oh Ava honey." She smiles placing her hand on my cheek wiping away the tear that spilled. "You have no idea how fucking happy that makes me."
