Volleyball practice just ended so Cate went to the locker room to change her shoes. Lynn is coming over today to work on their science project so she was taking Cate's bus. Cate found herself brushing her hair and putting on lip gloss to look good for Lynn. Why did she want to look good for her?

Lynn's soccer practice was almost over to Cate went to the field to watch it finish up. 

Lynn's hair was in a ponytail of course and it was messy with strands sticking out. She wore the school uniform with the number 1 and Loud on the back. She was running across the field as the girl with the ball neared closer to the goal. Lynn quickly gained the ball from her and passed to her friend. Her friend passed back to her and she scored the goal.

Lynn quickly ran up to her friends and they congratulated her as the did a hand shake with the passer. After they finished up, Lynn went to grab water and poured basically the whole bottle on her as she wiped her face. 

"Cate! Did you see my goal?" The athlete asked.

"Yeah, nice one. You ready to go?" Cate asked.

"Almost, let my change my shirt real quick. Wanna come with?" Lynn asked.

"Okay, I need to grab something from my locker anyways", Cate lied. She just wanted to be with Lynn.

The two girls walked to the locker rooms and Lynn held the door open for her. Lynn set her back down and took out a grey long sleeve. Then she took off her red jersey and was wearing a black Nike sports bra. Cate tried not to look even though it was normal for girls to change in-front of each other in the locker room. 

She couldn't help but notice Lynn had abs and her arms were really strong. The two girls were silent but it was not awkward silence, more comforting. Lynn slid the grey shirt over her head and grabbed her backpack.

"What are you waiting for? We're gonna miss the bus?", Lynn asked. 

"Oh shit you're right", Cate replied

The pair ran to the bus careful not to miss it. Lynn got on first and Cate sat next to her. After the 10 minute ride where the girls talked about school, they arrived at Cates house. 

They took their shoes off at the front and were greeted by Cate's mom. 

"Hi girls, Cate it's about time you invited Lynn over, you are neighbors after all", her mom said.

"Oh by the way the Loud's invited us over for dinner tonight, wear something nice sweetie", she added.

"Okay! Lynn, you want something to eat?", Cate asked.

"I made muffins for you two", Mrs. Ellis said as she took the muffins out of the oven.

 "Sounds good", Lynn said as she grabbed two muffins. One for Cate and one for her. 

"Ok mom, we are gonna go upstairs to work on our project now", Cate said. 

"Have fun, girls!"

The two walked upstairs into Cate's room. It had white walls covered in different posters from music, movies, and tv shows. She had a desk in the corner and a book shelf next to her closet. There were photos of her and her volleyball team taped to the closet. Her bed had Lots of cozy pillows and blankets on it with her lucky stuffed animal elephant. 

Lynn found her room very comforting. "Nice room". 

"Thanks, I just finished decorating yesterday", Cate responded.

"You can sit", Cate said as she motioned to her bed.

Lynn sat down as the girls took out their stuff for the science project. They began working on it and decided to take a break after an hour and 30 minutes.

"Wanna watch something until you have to leave?", Cate asked. Lynn had to leave in 30 minutes anyways to get ready for dinner. 

"Yeah, how about stranger things?", Lynn asked. It was one of her favorite shows.

"Sure, but we're watching from where I am", Cate said

Cate put on stranger things on her laptop and they were on episode 4 season 3 "The Sauna Test".  They were lying down on Cate's bed cuddled up in a fuzzy blanket. Their shoulders were touching and there was a light pink blush on both girl's cheeks. This time the silence was slightly awkward, both girls wanting to hold hands but too scared to make the move. 

"Um, Cate, I think I have to go now", Lynn said once the episode was over.

"Okay, I'll see you tonight", Cate said as she pulled her in for a hug. Lynn hugged her back and gently put her hands around the other girls waist. They pulled away after 10 seconds.

"So, I'll, um, see you tonight", Lynn pulled away. She was blushing but left before Cate could tell.

Leaving Cate, once again, a blushing and down bad mess.
