The gates opened that morning letting in the sun light from behind the walls. I got up and wondered over to the towering walls, vines drooped down over them making it have a splash or colour.
I stood next to newt and watched as the doors to the maze slid gracefully open. I brushed his hand by accident and began to blush hard. I turned away to look at the glade as a sigh to hide it and saw minho and ben approach us. I stepped back at the sight of ben. He sniggered and i grabbed newts arm for Comfort which i instantly regretted. he put his arm around me knowing what was wrong.
"Ahh the feisty boy and his girll" he said with a smirk crawling on his face. I squeezed his arm and hid half behind him scared of what might happen. He edged closer and bashed shoulders with newt who seemed unfazed. "Ur gonna pay for ruining my fun" he hissed in my ear.
Newt pushed him into the maze and he stumbled back, scowled and ran away. Minho apologised and joined him at a jog. A began to run back to my hammock in tears. I chucked myself into it and sobbed. Another person plopped him self at the end and rubbed my back gently. I knew it was newt as i knew his touch.
After about 5 minutes i sat up and looked at him. I knew my eyes were probably red and my nose snotty but he still looked at me with reassuring eyes. I placed my head on his shoulder and felt my eyes begin to close. ————- Newts pov
Y/n looked so peaceful sleeping on my shoulder but i felt so bad for her. It must be hard being the only girl in the glade and for that shank ben well i would deal with him later.
I couldn't help feel overprotective around her like if anything happened to her it would be my fault. Maybe she was just to good of a friend. But just friends didnt feel right i needed something more but at the moment i dont know what it is.
She stirred on my shoulder and smiled. I love her smile when i see it i think that all my worries just fly away. It's contagious. The only problem is her smile faded very quickly as she started to breathe heavy and her heart began to race.
She yelped in her sleep and was having a half panic attack in my arms. I kissed her forehead and held her close which seemed to work pretty well. Wait did i just kiss her? I shook it off and placed her in her hammock. I began to stand up to lean on the pole, when she grabbed my arm and pulled me back. I laughed and sat back down.

"Love i need to do my job"i laughed placing her hand back down. "Cant u just stay for a bit?" She groaned. I looked at her watery eyes and curled up with her in the hammock. "Just for a bit," i whispered in her ear as i too fell asleep.
