"Look who's back!!!"
Everyone at the airbase cheered when they saw Jake come in along with Pete and Bradley. With his trademark smile, he greeted everyone, gave a high-five, and received a hug from the other pilot.
Jake could be annoying with his self-confidence, but other pilots must admit his skills are the best.
When everyone cheers for him, one person doesn't follow the joyful moment.
That person is Y/N, the new test pilot trainee.
"Y/N, why you're not cheering for Jake?"
Y/N, who didn't seem affected by the happy atmosphere, turned to Jake, and with a flat tone, she said, "Congrats."
Her dead reaction made everyone quiet, but Jake smiled and said, "Thank you."
Y/N got up from the chair and left. Other trainees think she's too brave towards the senior pilot.
Other pilots felt awkward. "Don't be mad towards Y/N. She's kind but just not good at expressing her feelings."
Jake smiled. "That's fine. At least she congratulated me."
He didn't feel offended about Y/N's cold attitude and not respecting him.

Back at Jake's house
A couple lay on the couch and make out.
It's Jake and Y/N.
Yup. That's the secret they've been keeping.
Nobody knew that Jake and Y/N had been dating for two years.
Jake is giggling underneath her; she's eager to take initiative when he arrives home. It turned out she had been waiting for him.
He grabs Y/N's hands to stop her from taking off his shirt. "Let me take you out for dinner first."
Y/N gave a light punch to his chest. "Stop teasing me; I miss you much!"
Jake chuckled but could see the sadness in her eyes. He leaned, kissed his girlfriend's cheeks, and said, "Calm down, I'm not going anywhere. I'm home."
Y/N missed her boyfriend so much. Jake went on an extended mission with Pete and Bradley. It must be a risky mission when the three of them get together.
She prays every night for her boyfriend to come home safely.
But this person didn't even tell her when he would come back. He suddenly appeared at the airbase without telling her.
She wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his stomach. "I'm glad you're here."
Jake stroked her hair gently. He misses her, too.
From the outside, Y/N could be cold, but Jake likes it because she only acts spoiled and is herself when she's with him.
Only he could see every cute little thing she did. She acts like a fierce cat with others, but she's a fluffy rabbit in his eyes.
There's another reason he didn't tell her he got back. He arrived last night but made another detour to buy a ring for her. Because of the dangerous mission, he thinks life is short and wants to spend the rest of his life with Y/N.
When the time is right, he will propose Y/N.
