Murasakibara was walking home, lazily munching on chips and carrying his daily stock of snacks when five unfamiliar guys blocked his path. One of them stood in front with a cigarette lazily perched between his lips, while the others clutched baseball bats in their hands.
"Huh? Who are you?" Murasakibara asked, glancing over them with a bored expression. "Are you Murasakibara Atsushi?" the guy in front asked. "Yeah," he replied casually, still chewing on his chips. "I'm Michimi Taka," the guy smirked. "Your girlfriend's ex."
"Huh? I can't believe [your name]-chin dated a guy like you," Murasakibara groaned. "So borrringgg." Taka's smirk twitched in annoyance. "I want you to break up with her. She's mine, and I want her back." He ordered. "Huh? Boring. I gotta go home and eat my snacks." Murasakibara sighed and pulled open a new bag of chips, turning to walk past them.
"Stop!" Taka growled and swatted the chips out of his hand. The bag hit the ground. Murasakibara stopped in his tracks. "You don't leave until I say so," Taka snapped. "Eh?" He groaned. "Break up with [your name]-chan." Murasakibara stood there in silence for a moment. Then, slowly, he turned around. But this time, the boredom was gone from his eyes. His gaze blazed.
"First of all... [your name]-chin is mine." His voice was low, dangerous. "Second... no one touches my snacks except her." He stepped forward, towering over Taka by at least a foot. The height difference was staggering—Murasakibara looked like a mountain about to collapse on a twig. Taka didn't even get a second to react.
The next thing anyone heard... was his scream.
—
You and Nezuko were sitting in the park when Himuro came running toward you, panting.
"Atsushi—" pant "—Atsushi-kun—" You and Nezuko both stood up, eyes wide. "Himuro-kun, what happened?!" He finally caught his breath. "Atsushi beat up your ex-boyfriend!" He informed. "What?! Is Atsu-chan okay?" you asked, already panicking. "He's fine. But... why the hell did your ex do that?" You took a second to process everything. "Taka. It must've been that idiot!"
Without another word, you turned and sprinted toward Murasakibara's house, leaving Nezuko and Himuro behind.
—
You banged on his front door. After a moment, Murasakibara opened it, still chewing on something, looking completely unbothered.
"Eh? [Your name]-chin?" he blinked. "Atsu-chan, are you okay?" you asked, scanning his arms, his face—every inch—for bruises. "What? Of course I am. You really think that dwarf could hurt me?" he asked as he stepped aside and walked toward his room. "You had such a boring ex-boyfriend," he muttered, flopping onto the bed. "He kept begging me to break up with you."
"He's not my ex. Just an obsessed idiot who followed me around in my old school. I never agreed to anything. When I changed schools, I thought I'd finally escaped him. Guess not." You crossed your arms, exasperated. "Whatevaa. Just let me know if he pesters you again—I'll crush him," he said bluntly, munching a cookie.
You couldn't help but blush at the way he said it. That protective tone of his made butterflies explode in your chest. "Tell me what happened exactly," you asked, sitting beside him.
—
"First of all... [your name]-chin is mine. Second... no one touches my snacks except her." Those words echoed in your mind as he told the story, and your cheeks turned even redder. You felt dizzy just hearing them again in his deep, unfazed tone.
"Atsu-kun... didn't you tell him we aren't dating?" you asked, barely able to hide your fluster. "He doesn't deserve to know anything about us," Murasakibara replied simply. "Y-yeah... right." You stared down at the floor. Your heart was racing. You couldn't keep holding it in anymore. You knew he already knew, but it wasn't official. You wanted it to be.
You looked up. He was already watching you. You reached out, gently taking his large hand into both of yours. His fingers were warm and relaxed around yours. "Atsu-kun... I like you. Can I be your girlfriend?" you asked, your voice soft, yet steady. His eyes widened slightly—just a flicker—but then he looked at your joined hands, then back at your face.
He leaned forward, so close you could feel his breath. "You're already mine, [your name]-chin." And that was all you needed to hear.
