I watch Maces bright blue eyes trace the paper as he finishes his last verse. 'Damn he's good.' I think to myself.

"Julie?" I whip around at the sound of my name. In the doorway stood a man of average height with shoulder length, greasy hair. I've seen him around and I believe he's helped Mace with a few tracks. "I'm sorry," he apologizes "I didn't mean to startle you. I'm Jim. "

"Nice to met you Jim" I reply some what confused.

"Mace and I have a surprise for you." He says as he steps closer and hands me a paper. Is this lyrics?

"Whats this?" I ask raising an eyebrow. I hear the click of the door to the recording booth close behind me.

"We want you to sing the chorus in my newest song" Mace states walking up behind me. I snap around to face him.

"You what?!" I say quite loudly.

"The company would also like to give you time here and possibly sign you if you're so good as your friend here says." Jim adds but my eyes don't leave Mace. My tone of voice and mood drops and lacks excitement.

"Uhh... Yeah... I guess I will."

"Great!" Exclaims Mace with a huge grin on his face. "One last time?" He asks Jim, motioning to the large sound board in front of the glass looking into the recording booth. Jim sits down and puts on the large black head phones as Mace goes back into the booth and pulls out the folded lyric sheet out of his pocket and starts again. While nobody is looking I sneak back out into the lobby.

I walk up to the lady at the front desk. "When the people from studio 3b come out could you tell them I'm just outside?" I ask biting my bottom lip nervously. She nods and I walk out, sitting on the steps to wait.

After about 15 minutes I hear a familiar voice behind me.

"I don't know whats wrong, but I will find out and it will be over ice cream." Mace walks down the stairs beside me as he talks and turns to face me at the bottom, holding out his hand. He helps me up and we begin our walk to the ice cream shack just around the corner.
