That hall seemed to go on forever.

"Hold her tight, Al." Maces look-a-like ordered. "We don't need another runner."  The ogre, Al, tightened his grip on my arm. With his hand wrapping entirely around my bicep, I don't think I'm going anywhere. As we came to a sudden stop "Mace" turned a corner. That sounds like... Rain? As we followed, turning the corner, my jaw dropped. The hallway came to a complete stop opening to a huge field. We stepped out into the pouring rain. Then, what had been trees outlining the field, quickly turned into a blur as Al swooped me up into his arms and took off running. I shielded my face from the rain as he carried me in bridal. The rain was cold, heavy, and I was absolutely soaked within 20 seconds.

After about 45 seconds of straight sprinting we stop outside of a large cement building, in caged by trees. Twisted cracks twisted and climbed their way up the outside walls. Al slammed his fists in conviction against the enormous metal door. Holding me in one arm. An ear-splitting screech followed by a crackling sound caused him to halt.

"Who is it?" The man inside the box speaker asked. His voice was high pitched and cheery.

"Who the fuck do you think?" Al shot back. After a quick second the door opened and there stood a short, stubby, ginger man with the doorknob just reaching his shoulders. The two boys pushed through him like he was nothing. I watched as he stumbled backwards. I was too busy watching him to take in my surroundings. That was a mistake. A bag was thrown over my head from behind and tightened around my neck. I thrashed under Al's grip. I hate not being able to see. I squirmed as Al prepared to throw me and before I knew it my tailbone collided with a solid table. Without thinking I marched through the pain and started to run. Stupid right? Not even ten seconds later my face collided with a wall and down I went.

The phone startled me as it started ringing. I stood up slowly running my fingers through my hair. No shower in three days? Good on ya. I hurried over being sure not to miss it. I cleared my throat softly.

"Hello?" I spoke in a high pitch, polite voice, trying not to sound like I just awoke from sleeping the past week away.

"Hello, is this Ms. Davis?" A deep mans voice professionally replied.

       "Yes, and who is this?"

"Hi, Ms. Davis. I'm officer Patterson. I'm one of the officers on your daughters case. I've been told to inform you that after 8 days we are required to bring the search to a halt."

"What?!" Tears of anger poured down my cheeks helplessly. "You can't stop looking for her!"

"I'm sorry ma'am but we can't keep our team out any longer. But it will stay an active case and we will be sure to contact you right away if we find anything." I hung up with shaky hands just as Jay walked in.
