~Julie's pov~
I awoke to the same darkness as the night before. The floor beneath me didn't seem as cold. I internally smiled and the heat of Gavins arms wrapped loosely around my waist. Wait what? I pushed Gavin off of me as I hurriedly pulled myself to a seated position. It was kind of scary how fast he was awake and alert.
"Is everything alright?" He asked softly in a raspy, sleepy, yet very concerned voice, sending goosebumps all over.
"Well, besides the fact I'm in a gross basement cell with a huge ass gouge in my stomach and I have no damn idea where I am. Yeah, everything is just dandy." I instantly regretted my attitude. "I just don't remember falling asleep next to you. Thats all..." Gavin stretched rolling over onto his back and sat up to face me.
"It's all good, I was scared at first too."
"At first?" I asked. "How long have you been here?" Before he had a chance to answer me, people arguing startled to jump down the walls of the hallway outside the cell, and before I knew it Gavin was practically in my lap.
"You tell them nothing. Got it?" I was so confused. But something about his tight his grip on my arm told me I should be scared, and before I knew it the cell doors swung open. Gavin jumped to his feet and stood in front of me protectively. What the fuck is happening? Two guys blocked the doorway. The larger one of the two stepped forward walking into the cell.
"Move, kid." He spat at Gavin. Gavin just pretended like he didn't hear it and continued to block me, glaring at the figure in the door. He acted as if he wouldn't dare to come into the cell, unlike the troll, who had no problem making himself at home. His head hung low casting a shadow covered him entirely. "Did you not fucking hear me, Idiot? Move before I make you." The troll, actually he was tall. Maybe more like an ogre, spat once again.
"She has nothing you need." Gavin's voice was solid. His accent was pushed back almost to the point of non existence. It was unfamiliar and frightening.
"Thats exactly where you're wrong," The man in the door way stepped forward as he spoke. "She has a lot we need." And before I knew it the ogre shoved Gavin out of the way causing him to hit the wall and fall to the floor. A slight scream escaped my mouth as the ogre drug me out of the room and to my feet. As we walked down the hall I could tell the ogre had no intentions of letting go so I walked contently. I studied the other man, have been this was the first time I've seen him in the light. His back was turned to me with baggy jeans and a long black t-shirt. But what struck me the most was his short bleached blonde hair. If it wasn't blonde, I could have put my life on that it was Mace.
