Pov (Sam)
It's court day The kid are at there nans and Colby coming with me, "I don't think I can take the stand" I say looking at colby he gives me a light smile "You can do this okay I believe in you just tell them the truth okay" Colby says "Yeah I will" I say back. We make it to the court house my nerves are on edge and I'm not sure what to do all I know is I need to do this for my wife and kids. "I call to the stand Sam" I hear my name being called and I walk out I look over at my wife she looks exhausted. That when the judge speaks "Sam what happened on the day your son was injured?" The Judge asked "I spoke to my wife she wanted me to take our two kids to school Layla and Millie I agreed she hadn't been acting herself recently so I had started to get worried so she had a appointment booked with her therapist for that day, I reminded her of the appointment before I left when I got home Alex was on the floor and my wife was standing over him" I say "What did you wife say to you about why she hurt Alex?" She asks "She told me that she had been told by someone that he was a rapist in the future and that she had bad dreams about our family apparently she even found news papers to prove that it happened but none of them have been found" I say the judge looks at me "Why was your wife in Therapy?" She asks "She was raped she really struggled with it and it took a tole on her mental health to add to this a few weeks later we found out she was pregnant we wasn't sure if it was mine or the rapist and we've never done the test because Ella doesn't want to know" I say The judge gives a sympathic look "I'm sorry to hear that" She says "Why did she stop the Therapy?" She asks "She was finally in a better head space she felt ready and we were getting ready to move to our new house that was supposed to be a frest start for all of us" I say "Where are the kids living now?" She asks "Layla and Millie are living with me and Colby and Abigail and Alex are currently living with Ella mum until I've got Layla settled she been having trouble since her mum left and right now I need to put my attention on Millie and Layla I do see the twins everyday though" I say the judge nods her head "You've come today to request something haven't you Sam?" She says "Yeah I have, I'm moving with the kids up to a beach town to give them a frest start and to get far away from here as possible Ella mum is also moving over with us But will be living in separate house I was wonding if Ella could be moved to a Care place up there so she can be close to the kids" I say my mouth going dry "Okay sir we will think about your request Now I've been told that your wife told you something she wants you to tell me from her" She says "Yeah, She told me to tell you that it played on her mind from the moment Alex and Abigail were born that Alex looked nothing like me or Ella and he didn't even look like out other kids Ella said Layla she's a perfect mix of both of us she had her mum hair my eyes, My nose and her mums smile, Millie she just like her mum looks just like her and as for Abigail she looks just like me but Alex my wife recons he looks nothing like us and I think that plays on her mind a lot" I say which makes the judge nod her head again "When did your wife tell you about the rape?" She asks "Two days after it happened she was crying and upset I was worried about her and I asked her what had happened thats when she broke down and told me I couldn't believe it and I was shocked" I say "When did you find out she was pregnant?" She asks "A few weeks later the times matched up to that day and we'll we don't know if they are mine or the moron that hurt her, We had made love that morning so it's unsure I know that played on her mind a lot that's why she was going to Therapy to sort it the best we could" I say the judge nods her head again "You mentioned earlier about Layla how is she coping now without her mum?" She asks "She doing better but she still not a hundred percent it really took its toll on her when her mum was taken in she couldn't see her and well she tried to hurt herself luckly Colby was there and we were able to get to her just in time, she still want her mum which is hard because she can't see her at the moment but she is doing better and we have put her in counselling and she is opening up to us so she doing better" I say "How about Little Alex?" The judge asks "He's doing great he recoved quickly and now he's back to his normal self I saw him earlier actually and the twins are now leaving to talk" I say the judge smiles "You truly love your kids don't you sir" she says "I do Layla, Millie, Abigail and Alex I love them so much Millie hasn't really taken much in she to young to get what happened and she things her mum just on holiday at the moment and we'll Alex and Abigail there to young to know what's going on but there all okay which is the main thing" I say "It is considering what you've said today then if you think it's time and if Ella ready then I see nothing stopping you from being able to bring Layla to see her mum just make sure that you make a plan for it, and I see no reason why we can't move Ella to the closest care place by your new house that your moving to but Sam if it to much for Layla or she starts to decline again then it might be best to stop the visit your her dad you know best with that being said court ended" The Judge says before getting up I smile at Colby and he smiles back at me.
