Il Dottore's POV

"Theyre coming."

"Thank you." Pierro dismissed the agent without a second thought. Majority of the Harbingers were surrounding the table where meetings are held, but some were late. Utter imbeciles. Silence remained though, not one Harbinger made a noise.

"Sorry we're late, ran into an issue. Did we miss anything?" The Balladeer, the 6th of the Harbingers walked in, two Harbingers following him. I scoffed at his words. He knows as well as I do that if he had missed anything, he would not be told. He was late after all.

"Now that we are all here, let's begin," Pierro's stern voice commanded us.

We all took our respective seats.

"I'll cut to the chase. We've been betrayed."

All eyes lifted from the table to Pierro. Most knew this, but even those who didn't, didn't look shocked.

"By who?" The 7th asked.

"The L/N couple."

"Oh, the two who recently had their kid? Why would they betray us?" Fourth's turn to question.

"Apparently they went snooping while on leave. Found something they shouldn't have. Got scared and ran."

"And what was it they found out? Nothing too important, I hope?" Ninth's tone sounded like a question laced with false care. He always sounded that way, it bothers me.

"I don't know. But it was important enough for them to leave everything they had but their own flesh."

"Any idea where they've gone?" My turn to ask.

"No, but that reminds me. Dottore, I want you to find them and deal with them properly, in the way traitors should be dealt with. How is up to you. Take as long as you need. They won't talk, but they still need to go." Pierro's gaze did not leave my own eyes once.

I had no choice but to follow his command.

~

"You will find them. One way or another. But you will not harm them. Once you find them, you tell me and await my orders, no matter what." I had a small meeting with the more capable clones I have created over the years. I have passed down my mission to them. Pierro never said which Dottore had to take on the mission, did he?

The clones departed, and got to work. I had my own work to do aswell. My patients needed their doctor.

~

"Yes, in Fontaine. Small little townhouse, y'know? I could, uh, mark it down on a map?"

"No need, no need. Is that all?" I had received news from Zander that the L/N family had been found hiding away in the pretty little flooding nation of Fontaine.

"Yes. Their daughter is known to be alone a lot."

"..are you sure that's their daughter? If she's alone, how can you be so sure?"

"Uh, she often returns to the townhouse the parents own.."

"That could just be a housekeeper. How about you test whether she really is their daughter? Do something that could get a reaction out of the parents. Anything." I didn't bother looking up. I had to clean up the mess that thrashing green haired girl made. It looked and smelled like a massacre and it bothered me.

"Anything, you say... I think I may have an idea."

~

"You fucking IDIOT. You fucking IMBECILE. Useless clone you are. Your sacrifice was for no fucking reason. Now you have to rot away in that fucked up Fortress under all those halfwit guards and that ridiculous warden's watchful gaze. Now how do you expect to help me from in there?" I yelled all these insults at no one. The room was empty. I was making a noise though, by throwing things all over.
