for you.
—————
Choso had been flirting with you practically all morning, it was odd - to say the least, this was the first time he'd been so forward with you. His flirtatious behavior was becoming harder for you to ignore or play off as a joke, especially on an empty stomach. You couldn't resist your hunger anymore and you suggested going to a cafe to which he agreed without hesitation.
The desire to learn more about him - and the desire for him to learn more about you was irresistible and it definitely wasn't one sided considering when you asked if you could invite your friend, Kaori, his eyes flickered with curiosity as he nodded impatiently.

As you entered the cafe, the sweet aroma of coffee and fresh pastries filled the surrounding air you couldn't hold in your excitement as the two of you took a seat at a nearby table. Your eyes scanned the menu, his eyes, however, were too busy scanning you. You had decided on what to order and your gaze shifted up to Choso.
"Have you decided on what to order yet? .. I don't think we should order until she gets here."
You looked around in desperation for Kaori, hunger panged in your stomach - aching and groaning in anticipation. Thankfully, your eyes caught a glimpse of Kaori walking down the street entering the cafe. You waved at her and she quickly took a seat next to you. Chosos gaze briefly shifted towards her before he quickly redirected it back to you.
"Uhm.. Hey, I'm Kaori, y/n's roommate, and bestfriend~" She elbowed you, your lips unwillingly forming a smile.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Choso." Chosos voice was monotonous and seemingly uninterested.
She held her hand out, offering him a handshake to which he ignored, his gaze once again, settling on you. Your brows furrowed - the truth was you wanted them to get along, after all they were both your closest friends. Choso noticed your disapproval though, and he reluctantly took her hand and shook it. He stood up after the interaction.
"Are you guys ready to order? What do you want?"
You both told him your orders, receiving a nod from him before he started towards the cashier counter to order. Kaori didn't hesitate at his absence -
"Soo~ he's cute .. are you datingg?" She teased "He's the one who saved you, no?"
You nodded, ignoring her former comment.
"Yeah, I owe him my life .. literally" You chucked "We're not dating though, why? Do you want him?"
You and Kaori's relationship was similar to that of an elementary schoolers - you teased each other light heartedly, or jokingly made fun of each other, but you would no doubt take a bullet for each other.
"Heyy~ I mean if you don't want him then I just might take him for myself.." She shrugged as you forced a smile, a pang of jealousy circulating throughout your body "I'm kidding" She reassured you, noticing your discomfort "Besides, it seems like he doesn't like me that much." She looks over at him.
You sighed and looked over, watching Choso come back to the table with your orders in hand. He placed down the food and drinks in front of whomever it belonged to, then handed you and only you napkins. Kaori sighed and got up walking over to get herself a few napkins, when she returned she thanked Choso for the meal, he grumbled in response.
Halfway through the very awkward meal, Kaori got up and went to the bathroom. Immediately after Kaori left the table Choso spoke up -
"How'd you meet her?" He inquired.
"In highschool, but we moved in together once we got to college."
Your response earned a hum from him, he seemed to want to say more but he kept quiet. Both you and Choso had finished your meal by now, the only person who wasn't finished was Kaori, but that didn't seem to bother him as he got up signaling towards the exit.
"Lets go, I'm tired," His tone was flat, yet commanding.
"But what about Kaori?" You were interrupted by him grabbing your arm, his grip wasn't strong enough to hurt you though.
"My back hurts again.." His voice broke slightly, the desperation in his voice did make you feel guilty - but you couldn't leave like this..
"Go by yourself, i'm going to wait for her.." Your voice was stern and you immediately regretted saying what you did - were you being too mean? Or inconsiderate? I mean it is your fault that his back hurts in the first place..
"No.. I can't.. I need you to take care of me.. Now." The desperation in his voice turned into something else, more sinister, more controlling.
What kind of friend would you be leaving your friend for a guy? One that you just met?.. You didn't like turning Choso down - or saying no to him but you had no other option than to be direct with him.
"Choso, can't you wait? She'll be back in like 2 minutes - probably sooner.. I just want to say goodbye and then we can go."
He sighed and his gaze softened, he sat back down, rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
"Tch.. whatever.."
