Your eyes strained as you stared at the bright monitor screen, keys clacking as you continued working relentlessly. Taking a hit of your joint every now and then until you pressed the bud of it lightly on to the ashtray - so as to not ruin what was left, after tapping the side of the ashtray with the joint, you set it down. Sighing, your gaze shifted to the bottom right corner of the screen : 3:20 AM. You lightly rubbed your eyes and rested your head on the desk, eyelids becoming heavy - you passed out within 5 minutes.

8 hours later - 11 AM
You wake up in a haze, unable to remember how you fell asleep the night before. Your monitor was still on, the bright light in your vulnerable eyes causing you to squint. You stretched and after about 10 minutes you got up, sharp neck and back pains struck as a consequence of your sleeping posture. The pain caused you to suck in as you made way towards your bathroom, getting ready for the day.
You worked two jobs - one, an office job which you worked from home, the other, a waitress at a dying restaurant. You arrived at your second job, still putting in your best effort despite your hatred for the job.
'One more hour, one more hour and I'm home, it's Friday, no work this weekend.. Keep it together y/n' such thoughts flooded your mind as you tried to keep yourself entertained for the last hour of work. You heard the familiar 'ding' of the bell that indicates when someone walks in, immediately, your heart dropped. The presence of whoever walked in seemed... intimidating?
Forcing a smile you looked over at the guest, it seemed like your gut feeling was right. The customer, a tall, pale, long dark haired man. In the split second you looked at him you analyzed his face, his dark hair was down, resting just above his shoulder. He was wearing a white sweater and black baggy cargo pants. Something that stood out was the solid black line on the bridge of his nose, expanding out to his cheeks.
You quickly looked back down at the register before speaking "How may I help you today, sir?".
The taller man looked down at you, not bothering to move his head, his tired eyes settled on you then back at the menu displayed above your head. "Americano, large. Please." you took down his order at once before catching a glance at your watch, it was 10 PM. It took you a minute but a sudden thought came into your mind 'coffee? At this hour? The hell... I guess it's none of my business.'
"Is that all, si-" before you could finish your sentence he mumbled an 'mhm', swiping his card. His gaze seemed to have been focused on you before you looked up. The moment you did he averted his eyes elsewhere.
You were the only employee at this hour, meaning you had to take and prepare all the orders. You went to the back making his fresh coffee, you couldn't help but feel a piercing gaze staring at you from behind. Turning your head slightly, you saw the man staring at you in your peripheral vision, you quickly turned back thinking. 'Fuck is wrong with this guy?..' You finished his order and walked it over to him, his gaze burning holes in you. His head rested on his propped up hand, his mouth slightly covered by it. His eyes only looked away once you made eye contact with him.
"Here's your order sir." you set it down on the table in front of him before walking away, immediately after turning your back you felt that piercing stare at you again. The truth was, it wasn't very rare when you encountered weirdos like him. Considering you worked the night shift and the establishment wasn't located in the best area. You returned to your post, cleaning up for the night '40 more minutes, soon I'll be reading fanfiction in the comfort of my bed' . Your thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of the bell, you looked over, the tall man from earlier had left.
It was finally over, you threw off your apron and walked out of your work, locking it up for the night. You were too broke at the moment to afford a car - you always walked to and from work. You weren't stupid though, you carried a variety of weapons, pepper spray, a taser, and your pocket knife. About 5 minutes into your walk home you couldn't help but notice an unsettling feeling - were you being followed? You looked back, though there was nothing. You brushed it off and continued walking. The impending feeling got worse, you felt the sudden need to speed walk home. You looked back once again, noticing a shorter figure that quickly took cover behind a tree once your gaze had caught them. You don't risk it and started running at this point - but so did they, you looked back recognizing your ex that had been stalking you for the past couple of months. You turned back, focusing on not losing your balance.
All of a sudden - silence. No - silence followed only after you heard a sloshing sound, you looked down at your stomach.
Blood.
Pain didn't strike you until you realized your situation, you watched your clothing become tainted with the familiar dark red color. You grew weak, your legs gave out, and you were now on the ground. Is this it? Were you going to die like this? Your breathing became strained and you felt your eyelids become heavier, and heavier, until they were completely closed. Almost immediately after your lids closed, you heard a thud. You then felt yourself being lifted, being held in the arms of - a familiar intimidating presence.
