The morning had arrived and they had made it out of the storm. The trio was back on top of Red's head, but there was no sign of the boat, knowing it was washed away, they didn't care as they were nearing Rum Pepper island just up ahead.

The moment Maisie had woken up from her sleep, Laura took the chance to tell her what her real name was and she loved it!

Maisie had the telescope, looking out towards the island and Jacob had his eyes glued to the photo within Maisie's book of him attacking a beast. Laura walked over to Jacob, kneeling slightly, closing the book slowly. She noticed the saddened look on his face. "That isn't you anymore.." She said to him, gently placing her hand on his. "You're not Jacob Holland who killed four of them beasts in the spand of two days," Maisie said as she stepped down from the crate she stood upon.

"It was five." He said in a low tone.

Laura stood up next to Maisie, pulling Jacob up to stand before her. "You're Jacob Holland who befriended a beast, saved our lives, and led us to Rum Pepper Island," Maisie said, stepping out of the way alongside Laura, showing him the Island just up ahead.

Jacob placed the book down quickly, walking forward to get a good look at the Island. "We made it." He said. "We did, didn't we? All with the help of Red, here." Laura said, walking up beside him.

"This is as far as Red goes. Won't be safe for her beyond the Dregmorr, we can flag a passing ship." Jacob said.

Maisie's smile soon turned into a frown. "And then what?" She asked. "Well, then I'll uh, take you to Guelston, won't I?" He said.

"And what about you?" She asked, saddened. Jacob sighed, looking down.

Was he planning on going back to being a hunter? Laura was unsure about what he wanted, but Laura knew what she wanted.

"Guelston is a place, it ain't a family. I ain't going back there and you ain't going back on that ship. So all you have is us and all we have is you. That doesn't sound too bad.."

Laura felt the guilt weighing on her once again, not telling them who she truly was. Her name was one thing, but her title, was another. Maisie could live a better life with her and Jacob too if he wanted.

Jacob sat down next to Maisie as she sat there, hugging her knees. "So, what do you say? Should we give it a go?" She asked.

Jacob looked up at Laura who looked up at him as well, making eye contact with one another. "You mean uh, you mean like a family?" Jacob asked.

"Sure. I don't know. Maybe if we pretend long enough, it could feel real?" Maisie suggested. Laura waited to see if Jacob would say anything but before he could, Maisie quickly said 'nevermind it's stupid.'

"What, you picturing us on a farm or something?" Jacob said, smiling. "I said never mind, ya donkey." She said,  "It's just I-I don't think I'm -"

"You got something in your ears?" She snapped at him.

"Alright.Alright." Jacob said quietly. It was silent amongst the three of them before Jacob decided to speak up. "I guess, we'd better pack up," he said, getting up and walking over to our supplies.
