START OF THE VOLUME 2: THE RETURN
The mayor dramatically turned around and declared. "From what you've told me, I suppose the Arplesis has many reactors all around the planet."
"It would be the best course of action to destroy their base, the headquarters," The mayor continued, gesturing from his right hand.
Bending to a solid ninety degrees, the mayor pleaded. "Again, as a creature of this beautiful planet, I request you, Mr. Saitama, please save our planet."
Saitama nodded, standing up to walk towards the exit. "So, where is Marcus?"
"Oh, I've called him here," The mayor mentioned. "He might be waiting for you at the building entrance-"
Suddenly, Marcus slammed the office's door open, rushing inside, panting. "Mayor! The other towns have sent us warning signals related to something suspicious!"
"What!?" The mayor's pupils contracted as he shouted. "What is the warning about?"
"It's something that you've predicted." Marcus averted his gaze, staring at the stone floor. "The magic particles emitted by the presence of the blue moon in several cities around us had completely vanished."
After a brief pause, the mayor slowly closed his eyes and began chuckling. "Brilliant... So, I was right. Marcus, hop onto your bike and start working to accomplish your mission - The destruction of Arplesis."
Marcus straightened his posture and tightly grounded his hands. "Sir!"
After a few minutes, Marcus and Saitama left the city, approaching the colossal crater, still carrying the impacts of the previous battles.
Looking at the massive amounts of splattered emerald blood, Marcus exclaimed, "Just what happened? I don't remember this crater being so devastated and large."
"You were in the hospital," Saitama fixed his gaze on the glowing, minuscule magic particles.
Marcus chuckled and applied the brakes before stepping down towards the dead body of the Arplesis's boss.
"Is this the guy you've defeated, Mister?" Marcus bent down, carefully examining the boss's toes. "It looks like he went through a mana outburst."
Saitama stared at him with a confused, blank face.
"Never mind," Marcus scratched the back of his head before turning towards Saitama. "At least we got rid of one nuisance!"
As soon as Marcus finished, the ground beneath his shoes shook violently. Before he could understand what was happening, he found himself hurtling towards Saitama at an incredible speed.
The abrupt chaos was accompanied by a growling noise that reverberated through the entire crater, as if a powerful quake had struck.
The tension in the atmosphere forced the magic particles to vibrate and gather in one place, giving rise to a giant sphere.
It shone as brightly as the sun, emitting endless shockwaves into the atmosphere and increasing the pressure.
Within moments, the ground started to crumble.
JZZZ!
JZZZ!
BRRR!
The aftermath of the increased pressure left the whole crater covered in a thick smog, obscuring everything in a blurred haze.
"Ugh..." Marcus was lying beside Saitama, his mouth plastered with blood. "I-Is this crater cursed?"
"Maybe," Saitama said, looking around. "Nothing's visible."
Marcus's eyes were closed as the impact was still persistent. "D-Did something happen out there? I'm not able to open my eyes."
"There is a fog, and it's annoying," Saitama moved his foot back and took an attacking stance.
PHAT!
BSHOOM!
The punch obliterated the smog in its path, and the shockwaves cleared the remaining haze, revealing the fully formed sphere shimmering in brilliant rainbow colors.
After a few moments, the sphere began to change its form, accompanied by flashes of blinding light.
As the light faded away, the boss surprisingly stood on his legs as if resurrected, fixing his vampire-red eyes on Saitama.
"Revenge..." He spoke in a dim voice, gradually loudening. "REVENGE!"
Within the blink of an eye, he teleported near Saitama, his hands engulfed in burning, hot blood.
"KILL, KILL!" He shouted as he prepared to strike Saitama with his clenched fist.
BLAST!
Upon impact, the punch generated shockwaves that echoed through the rubble, shattering it into countless pieces. The force pushed Saitama all the way to the far end of the crater.
Immediately afterwards, the boss unleashed a stream of magic particles from his body, causing his body to glow in seven colors simultaneously as if a rainbow had formed.
"Water Hurricane!" He yelled as two-foot colossal spheres filled with pure, transparent water formed around him in all directions.
Soon, the spheres transformed into a vertical stream of water that struck together to form a whirlpool. It rotated at the speed of sound, creating loud hissing noises. The scent of water covered the atmosphere.
As soon as they formed, they scattered in random directions, coating the crater with water as if it had been thoroughly washed.
"Master has given command, and I have to follow," The boss muttered as he continued to deploy more.
Saitama was caught up in a whirlpool, and Marcus was nowhere to be seen.
"I needed a bath today," Saitama thought as he enjoyed the ride.
After a few minutes, the boss stopped launching the whirlpools and glanced around cautiously, only to find Saitama safe and secure.
"WHO ARE YOU!?" He yelled as he lunged towards Saitama. "YOU ARE NOT HUMAN!"
The punch landed on Saitama's bald head and bounced back on Collison. The dead, red eyes of the boss widened with surprise as his nerves struck out.
"Impossible!" He tried again, aiming at Saitama's head.
The strike was followed by a barrage of punches that generated enormous shockwaves, eradicating even the shattered pieces of debris.
Shortly after, his right hand was covered in fire, while his left hand was immersed in water. The collisions afterward initiated sparks of fire and water, respectively.
"Fight me, you human!" The boss shouted, his tone filled with raw anger.
"Can you shut up?" Saitama murmured. "Even though your whirlpools were comfortable, I won't spare your loud and echoing voice!"
Blocking the boss's punches with his left hand, Saitama prepared his right hand for a strike.
Even though the boss was an undead, his sweat glands activated, his eyes contracted, and his entire body shook in immense fear.
Before the boss could blink, the punch appeared at the tip of his face with a whisper. "Consecutive Normal Punches."
