Are You My Dad? | Part 2

Steven and Barb exit the big donut, still looking rather concerned and worried for the missing people, Barb rushing out in panic while Steven tries to keep himself more calm. "I'll see if I can find anyone on the boardwalk," he said, looking around with his widened gaze of worry for his friends. "I'll go check doorsteps for piled up packages, then we'll know if anyone else is missing." Barb places a hand on Steven's shoulder, before shooting up and shouting. "SADIE! DON'T WORRY HONEY! Mama's coming for you, baby girl!" Barb runs off, leaving Steven alone. He drops his gaze as he murmurs. "..Good luck."

Steven walks along the boardwalk, seemingly deep in thought, there was no one on the boardwalk at the time so his plan kind of fell through. "Jamie... Onion... Lars... Sadie? Maybe they're all on vacation? No, Steven," he says, sighing as he keeps up walking down the pathway, past all the shops that seem sort of empty as well. "Whatever the case, it's up to me to find them."

Steven then comes up to the Arcade, jumping on top of the seahorse and shouting "Jamie!" he then leaps down onto the Jellyfish. "Onion!" Steven then jumps down, onto the wooden ground. "Lars! Sadie!" Steven looks into the empty arcade, only to hear the sounds of the arcade machines saying "Awaiting new challengers to validate me" and "Somebody, punch me. Please."

Steven looks wide-eyed before just going to a vending machine and dispenses a bag of Chaaaps, walking away and proceeding to eat them. "Well, Sour Cream was right. Onion wasn't in the vending machine. And neither was anybody else."

Suddenly an innocent sounding voice came from a close distance, saying. "Are you my dad?" Steven looked up from eating his Chaaaps in utter confusion. The voice was then revealed to be a small gem, she was blue and was wearing a dark blue dress that hung down, her gem being a teardrop right under her eye as she looked up at Steven. The curly-haired boy saw her gem and screamed in fright, panic blowing through him, making Steven forget about his original mission for a moment. "A Gem!"

The small gem walked towards Steven, causing him to step back in time with her steps. "Are you.. My Dad, I need to find my dad." Steven started sweating nervously, quite confused at this little gem's question. "N-No, I-I'm not," Steven said, backing up again a wall, a little bit in front of the vending machine. The teardrop gem then gives out a groan and steps away from the frightened Steven, suddenly growing these water wings, like what Lapis has before she flies away, Steven gasping as she does so, reaching towards her with one of his hands.

"Wha- W-Wait! Don't leave me with another enigma!" Steven begins chasing after this strange gem, pleading for her to come back though the gem didn't listen. Steven then skids to a halt around a corner, finding that this gem had disappeared, Steven stood there confused before retreating and running home.

Steven was standing in front of the Gems, Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst as well as his best friend, Connie, he was describing what this little gem looked like. "And the gem was under her eye. My right, her left. And wings, and, yeah..." It was shown that the four where trying to draw what this gem looked like.

The first to show their finished drawing was Connie who seemed to have drawn the teardrop gem in a more anime style, though it looked quite close to what this gem looked like, she drew it as a bust. "I think I made one eye bigger than the other," she said.

The next was Amethyst, who had drawn a winged horse in front of what looked to be mountains, nothing to what this gem actually looked like. "I was going for a feeling," she said.

Then it moved on to Pearl's drawing, which was extremally detailed, but it seemed to look almost completely like their friend, Lapis Lazuli. "Honestly, I can't even draw a circle," she said, chuckling sheepishly.

And lastly was Garnet, who's illustration just looked like herself. "Okay Garnet, you just drew yourself," Steven spoke, seemingly confused by what Garnet had drawn though Garnet seemed to have a blank expression under her visor. "Uh, I like me."

"Well, anyway. I think Connie was the closest." Steven quickly changed the subject, sounding a little awkward as he spoke. Connie gained a huge smile on her face after Steven said that. "Thanks!" She said with excitement and gratitude. Pearl crinkles up her drawing and holds it in one hand tightly before slamming it onto the couch where they sat. "This was a waste of time. We should be preparing for a fight." Pearl then grabs the drawing that Connie had done and looked at it, showing it to the others. "Whoever this is, she's from Homeworld. She's gotta be here for us."

"She's not though. She said, she's looking for her dad," Steven spoke out to Pearl's worried ramble, them all looking and sounding shocked, all of the gems saying. "What?" Pearl then spoke separately to the others. "Her Dad?"

Steven briefly glances to the door leading outside. "There are all these people missing. Maybe her dad's gone missing too." Amethyst suddenly speaks out, confused as ever. "But gems don't have dads!"
"This doesn't make any sense." Pearl looks up, also confused before Connie points out. "Steven's a gem, and Steven has a dad."
"There are no other gems like Steven," Garnet replies, her gaze still blanked ahead despite not being able to see it.

"Are you sure?" Connie breathes out, silence falling upon the room as everyone looks at Connie, seemingly confused. Garnet suddenly stands up to break the silence. "We got to get to the bottom of this. We should split up, and investigate." Steven thinks that Garnet means she's gonna split into the two gems that make up her so he gasps. "Ruby and Sapphire!"

"Uh, no," Garnet says, slightly confused by this. "I meant split into teams." Steven lets himself down, slightly disappointed. "Ooohh... right." Steven begins pointing at everyone as he says their names. "Garnet with yourself, Pearl with Amethyst, and Connie with me. Let's go!"
