I Am My Mom | Part 1

"This is an emergency!" Steven shouts, he had regained consciousness, and was now standing in his home, confessing to the Crystal Gems what had previously happened back in the forest.

"Why is Homeworld stealing humans from the boardwalk?" Pearl speaks up, panic in her glazed voice, her stance tensed with worry and fear, Garnet and Amethyst carried that same pose. "I don't know." Steven replied, too pushed over by shock that he could hardly think straight. "But they're only taking my friends! They even got Connie! If we don't do something, they're going to take them into space!" Steven's eyes widened, as he gestures outwards, his face contorted.

Amethyst was the one to speak next. "And our spaceship got jacked, so if they leave Earth..." Her arms were crossed over, pushing her gaze over to Garnet, Pearl worriedly following that gaze. "They'll be gone for good." Garnet spoke, hunched over, teeth baring at the thought.

"Ugh, who were these guys?" Amethyst asked with a frustrated groan. "That little Gem I saw before, her name's Aquamarine," Steven said, his voice raised in a fit of fright. Pearl was the one to react, it was like she knew who that little gem was. "What?!" She was obviously panicked, but Steven just continued. "She's got a big friend- a fusion, named... Topaz." Steven raised his hand to his forehead, like he was confused.

"A Topaz fusion... And an Aquamarine?" Pearl was fear-filled as she spoke, Amethyst quite confused by Pearl's reaction. "Are they a big deal?"
"Uhh, yes!" Pearl snapped at her, pushing both of her hands to her straightened up pinkish hair. "Blue and Yellow Diamond must have sent them personally." Pearl now looked away from the others.

"The Diamonds?" Steven seemed confused until something clicked in his mind. "Oh no! They must be collecting more humans for the zoo!" Steven spoke, alarm rising in his voice and expression. "But there's loads of humans on Earth. Why are they only grabbing your friends?" Amethyst tried to solve this, everyone was confused. Steven then spoke up, trying to come up with something. "Maybe... Because my friends are the best!" Everyone looked away at that comment, not sure what to say at first, they were uneased by it.

Suddenly, Steven's phone buzz's to break the silence, everyone stepping back in shock. Steven pulls out his phone from his pocket and he gasps to what he sees on his phone. "It's from Connie! I know where they are!" Steven then shows the gems the hotdog stand at Funland, the four deciding to start searching there.

The Crystal Gems run up to the entrance of Funland, weapons in hand before briefly stopping. "Stay alert. They could be anywhere," Garnet spoke, wearily glancing around through her visor. Amethyst turns her gaze to Steven, hopeful. "Did Connie send you any more pictures?" Steven looks down at his phone after speaking. "No, nothing."

"We know they're here somewhere." Pearl says, trying to stay quiet. The gems then run ahead and Steven walks in the other direction, whisper-yelling for his friends. "Connie? Lars? Sadie? Onion?" He sighs, looking down at his phone once more, his expression sad. "Why them?"

Steven desperately tries to call Connie, hoping that she'd pick up, he did hear her ringtone, SHE WAS CLOSE, this gave Steven hope as he ran towards the source. He was looking around, panicked as he got closer but stopped suddenly, looking down to see Connie's phone, ringing but on the ground, he let his hopes get too high, of course it wouldn't be that easy, it's never that easy.

The Crystal Gems heard the ringing phone and came rushing towards where Steven was with it. Pearl speaking up, gasping. "W-Was that Connie's pho-" She was interrupted by the sound of heavy footsteps, stopping all of them as they all heard it. And right around the corner of the merry-go-round they were behind, peered Topaz, they were found!

Aquamarine was there too, a massive smirk bestowed on her smug face. "Oh, no! You found us." Her voice was in a singsong way, she was actually quite happy about this. Onion and Sadie then peer around the corner too, with their mumbled and helpless cries. After them, Jamie also peers around though his mouth wasn't trapped in the body of the Topaz fusion. "Help!" He shrieked fearfully.
