Y/n ignored all the carnage she passed by on the way to the bakery: people crushed under stray debris, bodies severed at the waist, still twitching, seemingly attempting to escape their fate.

While some people wailed, holding onto what was left of their loved ones.

Others ran away from the towering titans, which approached from all directions, causing Y/n to pick up her pace, rushing as fast as she could.

When she finally arrived, Y/n felt as though the wind had been knocked out of her lungs as her eyes watered.

The bakery where she had met her best friend, where she had cried, laughed, and developed nearly all her memories, had been breached by something large and fast.

She almost didn't want to walk through the threshold, aware of the horrors that awaited her, but she had to know if her family was ok. Learning would be better than running away, clinging to false hope.

Y/n swallowed her nerves, creeping into the Bakery and stepping on something that squelched beneath her feet. Y/n closed her eyes, gagging at the squishy yet slippery texture.

As she slowly scanned over everything which was knocked over, she saw it.

Y/n immediately halted her footsteps, watching as the naked and crouched flesh-craving brute seemed to be slowly chewing on something, savoring every bite of whatever it was.

As Y/n's eyes drew down towards the bloodied floor, littered with what Y/n could only describe as red and smushy sausage, which could explain whatever it was she had previously stepped in.

"Y../n..?" A small and broken whisper of her name was called. Y/n looked towards the noise, taking everything she had in her not to scream at the sight of her mother's pale figure lying on the ground.

Her hand was limp, holding onto a kitchen knife, while her tear-filled eyes gazed into her daughters, who clasped both hands over her mouth, noticing Lily's clothes were stained with blood and viscera.

Though the flesh wasn't her own, leaving Y/n only to assume it was her father that the titan was munching on

"Run away... leave this place... please, sweetheart.." She whispered, coughing up blood, which splashed into her eyes and ran down her forehead as she craned her chin upward.

Y/n's attention adverted towards the titan, trying to devise a plan. "Baby.. don't look, just go..."

Lily prayed Y/n would listen to her instead of just standing there, waiting to be slaughtered by either the titan who murdered the only man she ever loved or the onslaught of titans outside of the bakery, which were devouring every friend she had left.

"Y../n, please."

Y/n suddenly crumpled into herself, her fingers tangling within her hair, as her head began pulsing uncontrollably and unbearably. Y/n sucked in her lips, attempting not to make too much noise.
