Y/n did pushups in a secluded and dimly lit storage room used for military purposes. It was spacious and allowed Y/n the area she needed to train.

When Shiganshina fell and her parents were murdered, the world's cruelty came crashing into the young girl's simple life where she never felt the burden of what rat she'd have to eat, whose vomit she'd need to consume for survival, what she'd use to keep herself warm during the nights.

How'd she protect herself from predatory men, Y/n was forcefully thrust into the hell the Armored and Colossal Titan created when they barged through Shiganshina's front door.

And that's when she realized it was their fault her life was forever changed, their fault Armin's Grandfather was gone, their fault Levi had been buried in duty, their fault she cried herself to sleep.

This revelation led to an inextinguishable fire under Y/n, who prepared herself to get stronger, training emotionally and physically. Sometimes, Mikasa and Eren joined the brutal and torturous exercises:

500 crunches, 100 sit-ups, 250 jumping jacks, 300 Russian twists. And a few other exercises Y/n made up on her own, taking one of the heavy crates full of ODM gear, knives, and guns using it as a makeshift weight.

Armin usually watched Y/n exercise, opting to silently read in the corner, sometimes explaining whatever was going on in the book she had stolen for him, or he would discreetly peer over the top of his book to watch Y/n's abs and muscular frame flex with every workout.

But on the days Armin didn't keep her company, Elizabeth sat on a few stacked crates with crossed legs, staring and ditzy as she spoke about nonsense, constantly vocalizing every thought and expecting Y/n to respond.

Today was no different. "You don't like Armin? Are you sure? You two would be super duper cute together."

Y/n wore a workout bra and shorts. Usually, she'd wear a shirt but didn't see the harm in not doing so since it was only Elizabeth. "He's- just a friend.. nothing more."

Elizabeth playfully rolled her eyes. "Whatever you say," changing the subject with a dreamy sigh, "I just can't wait to apply for the cadet corps. Imagine the buffet of fine men." She stared down at Y/n. "I'm looking for a tall and slightly arrogant guy. They make for the best boyfriends."

"Uh-huh, I'm sure they do" Elizabeth's type was the exact opposite of her personality, she was a kind and extroverted girl who loved talking people's ears off, but she was searching for, in lighter terms, an emotionally closed-off piece of shit with a god complex.

While Y/n, though she'd never admit it aloud, wanted someone who enjoyed her love for books, had an open mind, would listen to her interests, and, most notably, wasn't scared away by her 'Manly' strength and fit body.

"You just don't see my vision," Elizabeth made a rectangle with her fingers, staring into the window with one eye. "Tall, attractive, arrogant, only nice to you AND loyal," she shrugged, trying to pioneer her 'flawless' type in men. "Come on, tell me that's not fine as fuck"
