"Good Morning, Ashton. Why don't you come on in?" I watched as my dad let Ashton in the front door.

I was being forced to help my mom cook brunch this Sunday since she happen to see one of the love bites on my neck. I tried covering it up, apparently my mom has eyes like a hawk and can see everything. I wouldn't doubt if she glared at Ashton all morning for taking away part of my innocence as she would say. Luckily she knows nothing about what actually went down Friday night. God, I would be locked away in a tower of she knew.

I turned around to see Ashton walking into the kitchen, a sunshiny smile gracing his features. His dimples were prominent, one of my favorite things about his smile. It could win over anyone's heart.

"Hello Mrs. Hemmings." Ashton greeted my mother. She gave him a half-hearted smile before returning to set the table. My father enter the kitchen a few moments later to help her with the last finishing touches.

Moving closer to me Ashton wrapped his arms around my midsection, pulling my flush against his back while I finished making the last few pancakes. His head rested on top on my shoulder. Leaning my head back I placed a small kiss on the corner of his mouth and Ashton nuzzled his nose into my neck.

After finishing up the rest of the food I handed it all to my mom and she placed it on the table.

Ashton reluctantly let go of me. I smiled shyly at him before skipping over to the table before sitting down in one of the two empty seats across from my parents. Ashton followed right behind.

"So Ashton, how did your show go the other night?" My father asked, his voice stern. Ashton was used to my parents bluntness toward him. He understood it was because I was much younger, but I could tell he got annoyed after hearing it far too often.

"Very well. I preformed the song I had written for Luke. He doesn't know it's about him, so let's keep it on the down low." Ashton fake whispered to my parents across the table, sending a flirty wink in my direction.

"That song was written for me?" I gaped, tears welling up in my eyes. Hearing he wrote it for me was the sweetest thing.

"Of course it was, baby." He cooed, pressing a light kiss on my temple. My parents still glared, but it's not like I shoved my tongue down his throat in front them.

"You're the absolute sweetest person." Ashton smiled in return. I scooted my chair closer to him and Ashton loosely hung his arm across the back my chair.

I almost forgot about the food on my plate, digging in and enjoying all the decadent sweet and savory foods my mom made. I helped with the pancakes, the rest of the credit goes to her. She always tries to do something different for our Sunday brunch, and succeeds.

"Luke, honey, why do you go grab the orange juice out of the fridge." I nodded, getting up to retrieve the pitcher of freshly squeezed juice. Scanning the refrigerator I didn't see it. Still looking inside the fridge I yelled, "It's not in here."

"Oh sorry hun, I forgot to mention it was in the refrigerator out in the garage."

Scrabbling out into the garage I finally found it.

As I opened the door from the garage that leads right back into the kitchen I heard the doorbell ring. I heard my mother say she'll get it so I plopped right back down next to Ashton and poured a glass of orange juice for him, he thanked me with a short chaste kiss to the lips when my dad wasn't paying attention.

My mom was talking to whoever was the front door, until I started to recognize who it was, scrunching my nose in distaste at the voice wavering from the front door I heard them say, "Hello Liz. Is Luke home?"

"Yes! Come on in. We're all sitting down to eat our Sunday brunch, you're welcome to stay and eat."

"You guys still have the famous Sunday brunch? Luke had always wanted me to come over for that when we were younger."

Their voices were getting closer and I was dreading the moment Michael saw Ashton next to me.

My mother walked back in the room with one of our spare dinning room chairs in case we have guest over and placed it at the end of the table next to me. Michael followed in behind her a moment later, he was smiling but didn't necessarily look thrilled when he locked eyes with Ashton.

I wouldn't look at him, I couldn't. Not yet.

Michael wanted to hangout yesterday and I totally blew him off the second Ashton texted he got off work early and I met him for a late lunch. I could have only imagined his face when it the clock struck 3 o'clock and nobody was home in the Hemming's Household.

I could have told Michael something came up, but I didn't. I left him there hopelessly waiting.

"You must be...?" Ashton asked.

"Michael."

"Oh."

"And you...?"

"Ashton. Luke's boyfriend." Ashton smiled proudly. "Nice to finally meet one of Luke's friends that isn't Calum." He joked knowing fairly well Michael and I aren't much of friends right now.

"Calum's your only friend?" Michael quizzically asked me. He must've have assumed once he left I got a life outside our clingy friendship, well he was wrong.

"Um, no. I have other friends from school. Calum's just my best friend."

I looked over towards my parents and they were paying us no attention and were in their own little conversation.

"Best friend?" Hurt crossed his features, and a tinge of guilt flushed through me.

I nodded, not trusting myself to speak at this very moment.

"Is that why you ditched me yesterday? To hang out with Calum instead?"

My mother piped into the conversation right away tearing herself away from what ever she was talking to my dad about. "Did he say you ditched him, Luke? I raised you better."

"No, no, no. I forgot, and Ashton called wanting to meet for a late lunch."

"How could you have forgotten? I had only asked you a few hours earlier. You always remembered things." Michael asked sadly.

"I just did, okay? I'm sorry. We can hang out some other time..." I suggested.

"I'll make sure Lukey here, doesn't go around forgetting things either." Ashton piped into the conversation.

Michael rolled his eyes before finally fixing himself some food.

Today is going to be a long day.
