After brunch Ashton pulled me upstairs and into my room leaving Michael and my parents downstairs alone to talk. Knowing my mom she'll talk about our childhood to him like he wasn't even there to experience it.

"Luke?" Ashton asked, he sounded nervous and the only thoughts running through my head were 'I fucked up' 'he's found someone better' 'he's letting me down easy'.

I went and slowly sat down on my bed, patting the spot next to me for him to sit.

"Yeah?" I croaked out, I didn't meet his worried gaze in fear that it would be something else.

"I have something to tell you."

I nodded, signaling for him to continue, knowing this was probably the end. Maybe I'm being overdramatic or maybe I'm right.

"The guys and I booked some gigs and ones in Washington and the others are down in Anaheim, closer to Los Angeles." Ashton explained, my head snapped, looking in his eyes to see if he was being serious. This conversation went the complete opposite of what I was expecting.

"That's-that's great, Ashton!" I smiled, proud of my boyfriend for what he's done and succeeded in.

"We leave tomorrow."

"What? Why? We were supposed to go on a date Tuesday." I pouted, not expecting it to be so soon.

"Baby." He sighed. "This is an amazing opportunity. We couldn't just pass it up. When I get back we'll go on a date or we can stay in bed all day and cuddle in a blanket fort while we watch movies, I know how much you like doing that."

"Can't I come with you?" I suggested, a small smirk tugging at the corner of my lips.

Ashton sadly shook his head, "Your parents would not agree with that. Sometimes I wish you were older."

"Oh..." I looked away from Ashton. He wishes I was older, more mature probably, and not living under my parents roof.

"Lukey, c'mon. I didn't mean it like that."

"Yeah, it's okay. Have fun on your trip. I'll be here when you get back."

I got up off my bed and walked Ashton to the front door where he asked for a goodbye kiss that would last him two weeks. I was mad at him, but I wasn't going to deny a kiss when I won't get one for awhile.

It was later that day. Michael and I went for a walk. It took him awhile to convince me to go with him, but his constant nagging finally made me cave just to have him stop.

"Luke," Michael whined, dragging out the e. "Why are you so moody? You've been like this since your "boyfriend" left?"

All I did was shrug.

"Did he dump you?" Michael pondered.

"No."

"Cheat?"

"No."

"Deny sexual relations?"

"What the fuck?"

"You weren't answering properly." Michael shrugged. I rolled my eyes and continued walking straight ahead.

"He's leaving..."

"Why?"

"Y'know you ask a lot of questions Michael." I grumbled, kicking a stone in front of me on the ground.

"You don't give answers. So I have to keep asking."

"Ashton's in a band. And they booked a bunch of small gigs in Anaheim and Washington State. That's like 6 hours from here in San Fransisco. And I don't even want to know how far away Washington is right now."

Michael stopped walking, pulling me to look him in the eye. "So, you're telling me he'll be gone for awhile and that's why you're moody as fuck? Because your boyfriend won't be here? Why are you so worried? It's not like he's leaving you forever he'll be back."

"He could." I muttered.

"Then you just don't trust him. Something you should probably do when you're in a relationship." Michael was spewing relationship advice left and right and I wondered when he became so good at this. When we were kids he had no luck with girls or boys, so how did he magically get all this knowledge?

"Since when did you become a walking relationship advice book?" I wondered aloud, staring at him curiously.

"Had a lot of free time to read while traveling."

"Huh." But couldn't even text me, or call me, or even send me a message on Twitter.

"Anyway. Do you want to go see a movie? I don't want to aimlessly walk around for a few more hours."

"I get a discount, so sure. I think Abigail is working the snack bar, so she could sneak us some free popcorn and drinks."

"The dream. I need to date someone who can get me free food from a movie theater." Michael smiled, looking over at me. My heart was pounding in my chest, but all I could try think about was I didn't like him like I used to.
