chapter 6

I woke up to my phone buzzing. I almost forgot about what happened yesterday, until I moved to get my phone. My body still felt like shit. I just hope nobody will notice.

I slowly stood up and looked at the now blue-purple bruises all over my torso. I once again put on the ointment before going to get ready. I brushed my hair put on a minimalistic amount of make-up and made my way to brush my teeth. I carefully unlocked my door and looked around before heading to the bathroom. I tried to be as quiet as possible as I got changed and made my way out of the house. My dad was still blacked out on the couch and I didn't want to wake him up.

The moment I opened my front door I saw the Twinkie pulling up infront my house. I walked to the van and took my place at the passenger seat. I threw my bag into the back of the van and John B started to drive off.

''Ready for your first day?'' He asked me.

''Yeah, I guess. I mean the offer sounds good and you were right about the payment, I mean I feel like halt a kook already.'' I jocked.

''Sure you are'' he agreed with a giggle.

For the rest of the ride we listened to the radio and sang along with the songs we liked. Time flew by and John B parked the beat up van near to the camerons house. We made our way to the house, which for us still is more like mansion.

''See you later'' I said to JB since our ways would part from here.

''Yeah, good luck with Ward. If you don't find him ask Sarah she'll probably show you where he is.'' He told me.

''Alright, thanks'' and with that he walked of to the Druthers. I rang the bell hoping to see a friendly face, but to my luck Rafe opened the door with an annoyed look on his face.

''What do you want here?'' He asked more suprised than annoyed but by the look on his face I knew he didn't want to see me here.

''I'm here for Ward'' I answered casually. He gave me a weird look. ''Beacuse of the job, chill out'' I added.

''Mhm, he in his office'' He told me, I nodded in response. As I entered the house he exited it. He's probably headed of somewhere.
I was a little lost while I was looking for Wards office since I didn't know where it is. Thank god Sarah is in the kitchen.

''Hey Sarah, do you know where I can find Ward?'' I asked here. She made her way ober to me the moment she realized I was in the room.

''Scarlett, nice to see you again.'' She hugged me. ''He's in his office, I'll show you''

''Thanks and you can call me Scar'' I laughed a little. She smiled at ne and made her way to her dads office as I followed her.

''So scar, here we are just knock, I guess he knows you're coming'' she informes me and made her way back.
And as she told me I knocked twice on the door.

''Come in'' Ward spoke through the door loud enough for me to hear. I ooened the door and as I thought he was sitting at his desk on the computer. ''Scarlett, perfect timing I just finished. Please have a seat.''

''Hello Mr. Cameron, thanks again for taking me'' I spoke while sitting down on the chair across from him.

''Oh please call me Ward since you're working here now''he told me with a warm smile. I smiled at him and waited for him to start while he plled something out of one of the drawers.
''Here's your work phone. My number is in there as well as Roses, Sarahs and Rafes if needed. I call you on that phone if I need you to come or do something for me.'' He explained. He handed me the phone and I looked at it before tugging it into my jeans-pocket.
''For now there is not much to do, so you can go or help John B if you want. I'll need you tonight tho. Me and Rose are going out and it would be good if you can take care of wheezie while we're gone. We won't be back until tomorrow noon, we will be at the mainland for the night. You can take a guest room here.''

''That sounds really nice. There won't be a problem I'll take care of Wheezie. I would go out and help John B. Is there something else?'' I smiled at him.

''No you're free to go. We will leave at 5pm so just be here by then.'' He told me.

''Will be'' I stood up from the chair and made my way out of the room. I found John B on the boat cleaning it.

''There anything I can help with?'' I asked him. He jumped a little, he didn't saw me coming up here and I laughed at his reaction.

''Shit you scared me. But no I'm almost done, you can sit down. So how did it go?'' He asked as I sat down on one of the chairs.

''It was good, he gave me a 'work phone' and I have to babysit wheezie tonight 'til tomorrow. They're going on the mainland and I have to spend the night here.'' I explained to him. I wasn't looking forward to sleeping at the camerons but there is worse.

''So I guess you can't hang out today'' he figured more than asking.

''Looks like it'' I answered. I took out the phone ward gave me and looked for Sarahs number. I thought a moment before calling her but I decided to just make the call.

''Hey Scar, what's up'' she answered after three rings. I guess she must have known her father gave me the phone with her number.

''Hey Sarah, I wanted to ask if you're home until ward and rose go?''

''Yeah, I am''

''Cool, uhm I wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out 'til they leave I don't feel like going home if I'm already here.''

''Of course I would like that, I'll come to the boat.''

''Alrigh, see you soon'
And with that I hung up.

''You're hanging out with sarah?'' John B asked suspicious but not in a bad way.

''Yeah I mean she seems nice and I'm already here''

''Alright. She is already on her way'' he said while looking in her direction. It's good JB and Sarah know eachother and he seems to like her aswell.

We made our way of the boat towards Sarah, John B was dond by now and we made our way to the Twinkie together so that I can take my bag with my clothes out.

I took my bag and goodbyed John B. He said he would explain the others that I won't be coming today before he drove off.
